A Chronologically Arranged Compilation of Unpublished Revelations

**Revelation given to the Prophet Robert Mason in 1800**

 I was carried away in a vision and found myself in the midst of a vast orchard of fruit trees. I became hungry and wandered through this vast orchard searching for fruit to eat, but I found none. While I stood in amazement finding no fruit in the midst of so many trees, they began to fall to the ground as if torn up by a whirlwind. They continued to fall until there was not a tree standing in the whole orchard. I immediately saw thereafter shoots springing up from the roots and forming themselves into young and beautiful trees. These budded, blossomed, and brought forth fruit which ripened and was the most beautiful to look upon of anything my eyes had ever beheld. I stretched forth my hand and plucked some of the fruit. I gazed upon it with delight; but when I was about to eat of it, the vision closed and I did not taste the fruit.

At the close of the vision I bowed down in humble prayer and asked the Lord to show me the meaning of the vision. Then the voice of the Lord came to me saying:

“Son of man, thou hast sought me diligently to know the truth concerning my Church and Kingdom among men. This is to show you that my Church is not organized among men in the generation to which you belong; but in the days Of your children the Church and Kingdom of God shall be made manifest with all the gifts and the blessings enjoyed by the Saints in past ages. You shall live to be made acquainted with it, but shall not partake of its blessings before you depart this life. You will be blessed of the Lord after death because you have followed the dictation of my Spirit in this life."

Wilford, I shall never partake of this fruit in the flesh, but you will and you will become a conspicuous actor in the new kingdom.

**A revelation given to Lucy Smith in 1803**

Seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Let your heart be comforted; ye believe in God, believe also in me. 

**Revelation given to Joseph Smith in 1820**

My object in going to enquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner therefore did I get possession of myself so as to be able to speak, than I asked the personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right, (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong) and which I should join. I asked, "Must I join the Methodist church?"

One of them spake unto me calling me by name and said "No, they are not my People, they all have gone astray. There is none that does good, no not one," then, (pointing to the other) “This is my beloved Son, Hear him.” And I saw the Lord. And he spake unto me saying: 

 'Joseph, my son, your sins are forgiven thee. Go your way, walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments. Behold I am the Lord of Glory. I was crucified for the world that all those who believe on my name may have Eternal life. Behold: the world lies in sin at this time and none do good. No, not one. They have turned aside from the gospel and keep not my commandments. They draw near to me with their lips while their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of Godliness but they deny the power thereof. The Everlasting covenant was broken.

And mine anger is kindling against the inhabitants of the earth to visit them according to their ungodliness and to bring to pass that which has been spoken by the mouth of the prophets and Apostles.  Behold and lo I come quickly as it is written of me, in the cloud, clothed in the glory of my Father.'

They told me that all religious denominations were believing in incorrect doctrines, and that none of them was acknowledged of God as his church and kingdom. And I was expressly commanded to “go not after them,” at the same time receiving a promise that the fullness of the gospel should at some future time be made known unto me.

He testified unto me that Jesus Christ is the son of God; and I saw many angels in this vision. He again forbade me to join with any of them and many other things did he say unto me which I cannot write at this time.

**A Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1829**

I will not suffer that Satan shall accomplish his evil design in this thing; therefore thou shalt translate from the plates of Nephi,  until ye come to that which ye have translated, which ye have retained; and behold ye shall publish it as the record of Nephi; and thus I will confound those who have altered my words. I will not suffer that they shall destroy my work; yea, I will shew into then that my wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil. (Compare to D&C 10)

**Revelation given to the Apostle Oliver Cowdery in June 1829**

A commandment from God unto Oliver how he should build up his Church and the manner thereof— Saying Oliver listen to the voice of Christ your Lord and your God and your Redeemer, and write the words which I shall command you concerning my Church my Gospel my Rock and my Salvation.

Behold the world is ripening in iniquity and it must needs be that the children of men are stirred up unto repentance, both the Gentiles and also the House of Israel for behold I command all men everywhere to repent and I speak unto you even as unto Paul mine apostle for ye are called even with that same calling with which he was called.

Now therefore whosoever repenteth and humbleth himself before me and desireth to be baptized in my name shall ye baptize them.

Behold ye shall go down and stand in the water and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold these are the words which ye shall say calling them by name saying: Having authority given me of Jesus Christ I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost Amen. And then shall ye immerse them in the water and come forth again out of the water and after this manner shall ye baptize in my name.

For behold verily I say unto you That the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost are one and I am in the Father and the Father in me and the Father and I are one.

And ye are also called to ordain Priests and Teachers according to the gifts and callings of God unto men and after this manner shall ye ordain them: Ye shall pray unto the Father in my name and then shall ye lay your hands upon them and say: In the name of Jesus Christ I ordain you to be a Priest or if he be a Teacher I ordain you to be a Teacher to preach repentance and remission of sins through Jesus Christ by the endurance of faith on his name to the end Amen.

 And this shall be the duty of the Priest He shall kneel down and the members of the Church shall kneel also which Church shall be called The Church of Christ, and he shall pray to the Father in my name for the church and if it so be that it be built upon my Rock I will bless it.

 And after that ye have prayed to the Father in my name ye shall preach the truth in soberness casting out none from among you but rather invite them to come.

 And the Church shall oft partake of bread and wine and after this manner shall ye partake of it: The Elder or Priest shall minister it and after this manner shall he do he shall kneel with the Church and pray to the Father in the name of Christ and then shall ye say: O God the Eternal Father we ask thee in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son and witness unto thee O God the Eternal Father that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son and always remember him and keep his commandments which he hath given them that they may always have his spirit to be with them Amen.

And then shall ye take the cup and say O God the Eternal Father we ask thee in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it that they may do in remembrance of the blood of thy Son which was shed for them that they may witness unto thee O God the Eternal Father that they do always remember him that they may have his spirit to be with them Amen.

And now behold I give unto you a commandment that ye shall not suffer any one knowingly to partake of my flesh and blood unworthily when ye shall minister it for whoso eateth and drinketh my flesh and blood unworthily eateth and drinketh damnation to his soul.

Therefore if ye know that a man is unworthy to eat and drink of my flesh and blood ye shall forbid him nevertheless ye shall not cast him out from among you but ye shall minister unto him and shall pray for him unto the Father in my name and if it so be that he repenteth and is baptized in my name then shall ye receive him and shall minister unto him of my flesh and blood but if he repenteth not he shall not be numbered among my people that he may not destroy my people.

 For behold I know my Sheep and they are numbered nevertheless ye shall not cast him out of your Synagogues or your places of worship for unto such shall ye continue to minister for ye know not but what they will return and repent and come unto me with full purpose of heart and I shall heal them and ye shall be the means of bringing Salvation unto them.

 Therefore keep these sayings which I have commanded you that ye come not under condemnation for wo unto him whom the Father condemneth——

And the church shall meet together oft for prayer and suplication casting out none from your places of worship but rather invite them to come And each member shall speak and tell the church of their progress in the way to Eternal life.

And there shall be no pride nor envying nor strifes nor malice nor idolatry nor witchcrafts nor whoredoms nor fornications nor covetiousness nor lying nor deceits nor no manner of iniquity and if any one is guilty of any or the least of these and doth not repent and shew fruits meets for repentance they shall not be numbered among my people that they may not destroy my people.

And now I speak unto the Church: Repent all ye ends of the Earth and come unto me and be baptized in my name which is Jesus Christ and endure to the end and ye shall be saved .

Behold Jesus Christ is the name which is given of the Father and there is none other name given whereby man can be saved. Therefore all men must take upon them the name which is given of the Father for in that name shall they be called at the last day. Therefore if they know not the name by which they are called they cannot have place in the Kingdom of my Father.

Behold ye must walk uprightly before me and sin not and if ye do walk uprightly before me and sin not, my grace is sufficient for you that ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

Behold I am Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. I am the same which came unto my own and my own received me not. I am the light which shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not.

These words are not of men nor of man but of me. Now remember the words of him who is the first and the last, the light and the life of the world.  And I Jesus Christ your Lord and your God and your Redeemer by the power of my Spirit hath spoken it, Amen. —— 

And now if I have not authority to write these things judge ye behold ye shall know that I have authority when you and I shall be brought to stand before the judgement seat of Christ. Now may the grace of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be and abide with you all and finally save you Eternally in his Kingdom through the Infinite atonement which is in Jesus Christ Amen—— 

Behold I am Oliver, I am an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Behold I have written the things which he hath commanded me for behold his word was unto me as a burning fire shut up in my bones and I was weary with forbearing and I could forbear no longer. Amen——

**A Revelation given to Joseph Smith, Oliver Cowdery, Hiram Page, Josiah Stowell, and Joseph Knight Sr. given at Manchester Ontario County, New York; in Early 1830**

Behold: I the Lord am God. I Created the Heavens and the Earth and all things that in them is, wherefore they are mine and I sway my scepter over all the Earth and ye are in my hands to will and to do that I can deliver you out of every difficulty and affliction according to your faith and diligence and uprightness Before me.

And I have covenanted with my Servant that earth nor Hell combined against him shall not take the Blessing out of his hands which I have prepared for him if he walketh uprightly before me neither the spiritual nor the temporal Blessing and Behold I also covenanted with those who have assisted him in my work that I will do unto them even the same, Because they have done that which is pleasing in my sight (yea even all save it be one only).

Wherefore be diligent in Securing the Copyright of my work upon all the face of the Earth of which is known by you unto unto my Servant Joseph and unto him whom he willeth according as I shall command him that the faithful and the righteous may retain the temporal Blessing as well as the Spiritual and also that my work be not destroyed by the workers of iniquity to their own destruction and damnation when they are fully ripe.

And now Behold I say unto you that I have covenanted and it Pleaseth me that Oliver Cowderey, Joseph Knight, Hiram Page, and Josiah Stowell shall do my work in this thing, yea even in securing the Copyright and they shall do it with an eye single to my Glory that it may be the means of bringing souls unto Salvation through mine only Begotten.

Behold I am God I have spoken it and it is expedient in me. Wherefore I say unto you that ye shall go to Kingston seeking me continually through mine only Begotten and if ye do this ye shall have my spirit to go with you and ye shall have an addition of all things which is expedient in me.

And I grant unto my servant a privilege that he may sell a copyright through you, speaking after the manner of men, for the four Provinces if the People harden not their hearts against the enticings of my spirit and my word for Behold it lieth in themselves to their condemnation or to their salvation.

Behold my way is before you and the means I will prepare and the Blessing I hold in mine own hand and if ye are faithful I will pour out upon you even as much as ye are able to Bear and thus it shall be.

Behold I am the father and it is through mine only begotten which is Jesus Christ your Redeemer amen.

**Revelation given to Ezra Thayer and Joseph Smith Sr. concerning a farm etc. on May 15th. 1831**

Hearken unto my words and behold I will make known unto you what ye shall do as it shall be pleasing unto me for verily I say unto you it must needs be that ye let the bargain stand that ye have made concerning these farms until it be so fulfilled.

Behold ye are holden for the one even so likewise thine adversary is holden for the other wherefore it must needs be that ye pay no more money for the present time until the contract be fulfilled.

And let my Servant Joseph and his family go into the House after thine adversary is gone and let my Servant Ezra board with him and let all the Brethren immediately assemble together and put up an house for my Servant Ezra, and let my Servant Frederick’s family remain and let the house be repaired and their wants be supplied and when my Servant Frederick returns from the west.

Behold he taketh his family to the west, Let that which belongeth to my Servent Frederick be secured unto him by deed or bond and thus he willeth that the Brethren reap the good thereof.

Let my Servant Joseph govern the things of the farm and provide for the families and let him have help in as much as he standeth in need.

Let my servent Ezra humble himself and at the conference meeting he shall be ordained unto power from on high and he shall go from thence (if he be obedient unto my commandments) and proclaim my Gospel unto the western regions with my Servants that must go forth even unto the borders of the Lamanites for Behold I have a great work for them to do and it shall be given unto you to know what ye shall do at the conference meeting even so Amen——

Q. What shall the Brethren do with their money?

A. Ye shall go forth and seek diligently among the Brethren and obtain lands and save the money that it may be consecrated to purchase lands in the west for an everlasting inheritance.

Even So, Amen.

**Part — of a revelation by Joseph Smith Jun. given over the boundary, west of Jackson Co. Missouri, on Sunday morning, July 17, 1831, when Seven Elders, viz: Joseph Smith Jun. Oliver Cowdery, W.W. Phelps, Martin Harris, Joseph Coe, Ziba Peterson and Joshua Lewis united their hearts in prayer, in a private place, to inquire of the Lord who should preach the first sermon to the remnants of the Lamanites and Nephites, and the people of that Section, that should assemble that day in the Indian country, to hear the gospel, and the revelations according to the Book of Mormon. ...In addition to this, and to co-operate with it, it has been made known by revelation, that it will be pleasing to the Lord, should they form a matrimonial alliance with the Natives; and by this means the Elders, who comply with the thing so pleasing to the Lord, and for which the Lord has promised to bless  those who do it abundantly, gain a residence in the Indian territory, independent of the agent.**

    Among the company, there being neither pen, ink or paper, Joseph remarked that the Lord could preserve his words as he had ever done, till the time appointed, and proceeded:

    Verily, verily, saith the Lord your Redeemer, even Jesus Christ, the light and the life of the world, ye can not discern with your natural eyes, the design and the purpose of your Lord and your God, in bringing you thus far into the wilderness for a trial of your faith, and to be especial witnesses, to bear testimony of this land, upon which the zion of God shall be built up in the last days, when it is redeemed.

    Verily, inasmuch as ye are united in calling upon my name to know my will concerning who shall preach to the inhabitants that shall assemble this day to learn what new doctrine you have to teach them, you have done wisely, for so did the prophets anciently, even Enoch, and Abraham, and others: and therefore, it is my will that my servant Oliver Cowdery should open the meeting with prayer; that my servant W. W. Phelps should preach the discourse; and that my servants Joseph Coe and Ziba Peterson should bear testimony as they shall be moved by the Holy Spirit. This will be pleasing in the sight of your Lord.

    Verily I say unto you, ye are laying the foundation of a great work for the salvation of as many as will believe and repent, and obey the ordinances of the gospel, and continue faithful to the end: For, as I live, saith the Lord, so shall they live.

    Verily I say unto you that the wisdom of man in his fallen state, knoweth not the purposes and the privileges of my holy priesthood. but ye shall know when ye receive a fulness by reason of the anointing: For it is my will, that in time, ye should take unto you wives of the Lamanites and Nephites, that their posterity may become white, delightsome and Just, for even now their females are more virtuous than the gentiles.

    Gird up your loins and be prepared for the mighty work of the Lord to prepare the world for my second coming to meet the tribes of Israel according to the predictions of all the holy prophets since the beginning; For the final desolation, and decrees upon Babylon: For, as the everlasting gospel is carried from this land, in love for peace, to gather mine elect from the four quarters of the earth, for Zion,— even so shall rebellion follow after speedily, with hatred for war until the consumption decreed hath made a full end of all the kingdoms and nations that strive to govern themselves by the laws and precepts, and force and powers of men under the curse of sin, in all the world.

    Verily I say unto you, that the day of vexation and vengeance is nigh at the doors of this nation, when wicked, ungodly and daring men will rise up in wrath and might, and go forth in anger, like as the dust is driven by terrible wind; and they will be the means of the destruction of the government, and cause the death and misery of many souls, but the faithful among my people shall be preserved in holy places, during all these tribulations.

    Be patient, therefore, possessing your souls in peace and love, and keep the faith that is now delivered unto you for the gathering of scattered Israel, and lo, I am with you, though ye cannot see me, till I come: even so. Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 31 August 1831**

Behold thus saith the Lord by the voice of the Spirit: It is wisdom in me that my Servent John Burk, David Elliott, and Erastus Babbitt should take their Journey this fall to the land of Zion.

**Revelation concerning Lincoln Haskins given through the Prophet Joseph Smith in Hiram, Portage County, Ohio on Febry. 27th. 1832**

Behold thus saith the Lord unto you my servants that I have chosen Lincoln to be a servant unto me, wherefore verily I say unto you let him be ordained and receive the articles and covenants which I have given unto you and some of the commandments that he may go forth and proclaim my gospel whithersover I will send him in the congregrations of the wicked and in asmuch as he is faithful I will prosper him even so Amen.

**A Sample of pure Language given by Joseph the Seer as copied by Brother Johnson, March 1832**

Question: What is the name of God in pure Language?
Answer: Ahman.

Q: The meaning of the pure word Ahman?
A: It is the being which made all things in all its parts.

Q: What is the name of the Son of God?
A: The Son Ahman.

Q: What is the Son Ahman?
A: It is the greatest of all the parts of Ahman which is the Godhead, the first born.

Q: What is is man?
A: This signifies Sons Ahman. The human family, the children of men, the greatest parts of Ahman Sons the Son Ahman.

Q: What are Angels called in pure language?
A: Ahman Angls-men.

Q: What are the meaning of these words?
A: Ahman’s Ministering servants Sanctified who are sent forth from heaven to minister for or to Sons Ahman the greatest part of Ahman Son. Sons Ahman, Son Ahman, Ahman.

**Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith on the Pure language, as recalled by Orson Pratt**

“What is the name of God in the pure language?” The answer says, “Ahman.” “What is the name of the Son of God?” Answer, “Son Ahman—the greatest of all the parts of God excepting Ahman.” “What is the name of men?” “Sons Ahman,” is the answer. “What is the name of angels in the pure language?” “Anglo-man.”

This revelation goes on to say that Sons Ahman are the greatest of all the parts of God excepting Son Ahman and Ahman, and that Anglo-man are the greatest of all the parts of God excepting Sons Ahman, Son Ahman, and Ahman, showing that the angels are a little lower than man.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 20 March 1832**

Question: First, Shall we procure the paper required of our brethren in their letter and carry it with us or not, and if we do, what moneys shall we use for that purpose?

Answer: It is expedient, saith the Lord unto you, that the paper is purchased for the printing of the​ Book of the Lord's Commandments and it must needs be that you take it with you for it is not expedient that my Servant Martin should as yet go up unto the land of Zion.

Let the purchase be made by the Bishop if it must needs be​ by hire.

Let whatsoever is done be done in the name of the Lord.

Question: Second shall we finish the translation <of the New testament​ before we go to Zion or wait till we return?

Answer: It is expedient, saith the Lord, that there be no delays and thus saith the Lord for the greatest good and benefit of the church: Wherefore omit the translation for the present time.

**Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith on March 1832**

Verily thus saith the Lord unto you my Servant Sidney and Joseph: I reveal unto you for your own profit and instruction concerning the Bishops of my church, what is their duty in the church; behold it is their duty to stand in the office of their Bishopric and to fill the judgement seat which I have appointed unto them to and to administer the benefits of the church or the surplus of all who are in their stewardships according to the Commandments as they are severly appointed and the property or that which they receive of the church is not their own but belongeth to the church.

Wherefore it is the property of the Lord and it is for the poor of the church to be administered according to the law, for it is the will of the Lord that the church should be made equal in all things.

Wherefore the bishops are accountable before the Lord for their stewardships to administer of their stewardship in the which they are appointed by commandment jointly with you my servants unto the Lord as well as you my servants or the rest of the church that the benefits of all may be dedicated unto the Lord, that the Lords storehouse may be filled always, that ye may all grow in temporal as well as spiritual things.

And now verily I say unto you: the bishops must needs be seperated unto their bishoprics and judgement seats from care of business, but not from claim neither from council wherefore I have given unto you commandment that you should be joined together by covenant and bond.

Wherefore see that ye do even as I have Commanded and unto the office of the presidency of the high Priesthood I have given authority to preside with the assistance of his councillors over all the Concerns of the church, wherefore stand ye fast,  claim your Priesthood in authority yet in meekness and I am able to make you abound and be fruitful and you shall never fall; For unto you I have given the keys of the kingdom and if you transgress not they shall never be taken from you, wherefore feed my sheep. Even so, amen.

**Revelation to Frederick Williams given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 5 January 1833**

Behold I Say unto you my Servant Frederick, Listen to the word of Jesus Christ your Lord and your Redeemer: thou hast desired of me to know which would be the most worth unto you, behold blessed art thou for this thing.

Now I say unto you, my Servant Joseph is called to do a great work and hath need that he may do the work of translation for the salvation of souls— Verily verily I say unto you thou art called to be a Councillor and scribe unto my servant Joseph.

Let thy farm be consecrated for bringing forth of the revelations and thou shalt be blessed and lifted up at the last day. Even so, Amen.

**A Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1833**

I know that Zion in the own due time of the Lord will be redeemed, but how many will be the days of her purification, tribulation, and affliction, the Lord has kept hid from my eyes and when I inquire concerning this subject, the voice of the Lord is;

Be still, and know that I am God! All those who suffer for my name shall reign with me, and he that layeth down his life for my sake shall find it again. 

**Song sang by David Patten through the Gift of Tongues and translated by Sidney Rigdon on 27 February 1833**

Age after age has rolled away, according to the sad fate of man.

Countless millions forever gone, at length the period of time has come that oft was seen by a prophetic eye and written too by all holy men Inspired of the Lord: a time which was seen by Enoch of Old at a time when he stood upon the mount which was called the mountain of God as he gazed upon nature and the corruption of of man and mourned their sad fate and wept and cried with a Loud voice and heaved forth his sighs Omnipotence Omnipotence o may I see thee— and with his finger he touched his eyes and he saw heaven he gazed on eternity and sang an Angelic song and mingled his voice with the heavenly throng:

 Hozana! Hozana! the sound of the trump around the throne of God echoed and echoed again and rang and reechoed until eternity was filled with his voice he saw, yea he saw, and he glorified God, the salvation of his people his city caught up through the gospel of Christ.

He saw the beginning, the ending of man. He saw the time when Adam his father was made and he saw that he was in eternity before a grain of dust in the balance was weighed he saw that he emenated and came down from God he saw what had passed and then was and is present and to come therefore he saw the Last days the Angel that came down to John and the Angel that now is now flying having the everlasting Gospel to commit unto men— which in my soul I have receive and from death and bondage from the Devil.

 I’m freed and am free in the gospel of Christ and Im waiting and with patience Ill wait on the Lord hozana! loud sound the trump cause eternity to wring hozana forever.

I'm waiting the coming of Christ a mansion on high a celestial abode a seat on the right hand of God.

Angels are coming, the Holy Ghost is falling upon the saints and will continue to fall the saviour is coming, yea, the Bridegroom.

Prepare ye prepare yea the cry has gone forth go wait on the Lord the Angels in glory will soon be descending. Go join you in singing the praises of God the trump Loud shall sound the dark veil soon shall rent.

Heaven shall shake the earth shall tremble and all nature shall feel the power of God, gaze ye saints gaze ye upon him, gaze upon Jesus: hozana! loud sound the trump his church is caught up. Hozana! Praise him ye saints they stand at his feet behold they are weeping they strike hands with Enoch of Old they inherit a city as it is written the City of God, Loud sound the trump, they receive a celestial crown: hozana! hozana! the heaven of heavens and the heavens are filled with his praises of God, Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith in Kirtland, 28 April 1834**

Verily thus saith the Lord concerning the division and settlement of the United Firm: Let there be reserved three Thousand Dollars for the right and claim of the Firm in Kirtland for inheritances in due time, even when the Lord will; and with this claim to be had in remembrance when the Lord shall reveal it for a right of inheritance.

Ye are made free from the Firm of Zion and the Firm of Zion is made free from the firm in Kirtland: Thus Saith the Lord. Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 5 December 1834**

Verily, condemnation resteth upon you, who are appointed to lead my Church, and to be saviors of men: and also upon the church: And there must needs be a repentance and a reformation among you, in all things, in your examples before the Chuch, and before the world, in all your manners, habits and customs, and salutations one toward another— rendering unto every man the respect due the office, and calling, and priesthood, whereunto I the Lord have appointed and ordained you. Amen.

**A Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith On October 11, 1835**

I visited my father again, who was very sick. In secret prayer in the morning, the Lord said;

My servant, thy father shall live.

This day assembled in the house of the Lord as usual and the Spirit of the Lord decended upon Joseph Smith Jr—the seer and he prophesied: saying the Lord has showd to me this day by the Spirit of Revelation that the distress, and sickness that has heretofore prevailed among the children of Zion will be mitigated from this time forth.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 27 October 1835**

The word of the Lord came unto me saying: My Servant Fredrick shall come and shall have wisdom given him to deal prudently and my handmaiden shall be delivered of a living child and be spared.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 1 November 1835**

Verily thus Saith the Lord unto me, his servant Joseph Smith Jun.:

Mine anger is kindled against my servant Reynolds Cahoon because of his iniquities, his covetous and dishonest principles in himself and family and he doth not purge them away and set his house in order, therefore if he repent not chastisment awaiteth him even as it seemeth good in my sight therefore go and declare unto him this word.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 2 November 1835**

Thus came the word of the Lord unto me saying: It is not my will that my servant Frederick should go to New York, but inasmuch as he wishes to go and visit his relatives that he may warn them to flee the wrath to come let him go and see them, for that purpose and let that be his only business, and behold in this thing he shall be blessed with power to overcome their prejudices, Verily thus saith the Lord, Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 3 November 1835**

Thus came the word of the Lord unto me saying concerning the Twelve:

Behold: they are under condemnation, because they have not been sufficiently humble in my sight, and in consequence of their covetous desires, in that they have not dealt equally with each other in the division of the moneys which came into their hands, nevertheless some of them, dealt equally therefore they shall be rewarded, but Verily I say unto you they must all humble themselves before Me, before they will be accounted worthy to receive an endowment to go forth in my name unto all nations.

As for my Servant William let the Eleven humble themselves in prayer and in faith and wait on me in patience and my servant William shall return, and I will yet make him a polished shaft in my quiver, in bringing down the wickedness and abominations of men and their shall be none mightier than he in his day and generation.

Nevertheless if he repent not speedily, he shall be brought low and shall be chastened sorely for all his iniquities he has committed against me.

Nevertheless the sin which he hath sinned against me is not even now more grievous than the sin with which my servant David W. Patten and my servant Orson Hyde and my servant William E. McLellin have sinned against me, and the residue are not sufficiently humble before me.

Behold the parable which I spake concerning a man having twelve Sons, for what man among you having twelve Sons and is no respecter to them and they serve him obediently and he saith unto the one be thou clothed in robes and sit thou here, and to the other be thou clothed in rags and sit thou there, and looketh upon his sons and saith 'I am just'?  Ye will answer and say no man, and ye answer truly. 

Therefore Verily thus saith the Lord your God; I appointed these twelve that they should be equal in their ministry and in their portion and in their evangelical rights, wherefore they have sinned a very grievous sin, inasmuch as they have made themselves unequal and have not harkened unto my voice therefore let them repent speedily and prepare their hearts for the solem assembly and for the great day which is to come Verily thus saith the Lord, Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 7 November 1835**

The word of the Lord​ came to me saying:

Behold I am well pleased with my servant Isaac Morley and my servant Edward Partridge, because of the integrity of their hearts in laboring in my vineyard for the salvation of the souls of men.

Verily I say unto you: their sins are forgiven them, therefore say unto them in my name that it is my will that they should tarry for a little season and attend the school, and also the solemn assembly for a wise purpose in me, even so amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 8 November 1835, regarding members of the Missouri Church Presidency**

The word of the Lord came unto me saying that President William Phelps and President John Whitmer are under condemnation before the Lord, for their iniquities.

**Revelation concerning Warren Parrish given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 14 November 1835**

Thus came the word of the Lord unto me saying:

Verily thus saith the Lord unto my servant Joseph concerning my servant Warren: his sins are forgiven him because of his desires to do the works of righteousness.

Therefore inasmuch as he will continue to hearken unto my voice he shall be blessed with wisdom and with a sound mind even above his fellows, behold it shall come to pass in his day that he shall see​ great things show forth themselves unto my people, he shall see much of my ancient records, and shall know of hidden things, and shall be endowed with a knowledge of hidden languages, and if he desires and shall seek it at my hand, he shall be privileged with writing much of my word, as a scribe unto me for the benefit of my people.

Therefore this shall be his calling until I shall order it otherwise in my wisdom and it shall be said of him in a time to come, behold Warren the Lords Scribe, for the Lords Seer whom he hath appointed in Israel; Therefore if he will​ keep my commandments he shall be lifted up at the last day, even so Amen.

**Revelation to Harvey Whitlock given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 16 November 1835. During fall 1835, Joseph Smith received a contrite letter from Harvey Whitlock, who had become estranged from the church sometime during the previous two years. Though little is known about the circumstances surrounding his separation, he evidently had a change of heart during the latter part of 1835, which prompted him to write to Joseph.  In a 28 September letter, he appealed to Joseph to let him know if he was still “within the reach of mercy” and requested that Joseph “enquire at the hand of the Lord in my behalf.” Penitently, he told Joseph, “I am willing to receive any chastisement that the Lord sees I deserve.”**

I have inquired of the Lord concerning your case, these words came to me:

Verily thus saith the Lord unto you; Let him who was my servant Harvey, return unto me;— and unto the bosom of my Church, and forsake all the sins wherewith he has offended against me and pursue from henceforth a virtuous and upright life, and remain under the direction of those whom I have appointed to be pillars, and heads of my Church, and behold, saith the Lord, your God; his sins shall be blotted out from under heaven, and shall be forgotten from among men, and shall not come up in mine ears, nor be recorded as memorial against him, but I will lift him up as out of deep mire, and he shall be exalted upon the high places, and shall be counted worthy to stand among princes, and shall yet be made a polished shaft in my quiver, of bringing down the strong holds of wickedness, among those who set themselves up on high, that they may take council against me, and against anointed ones in the last days.

Therefore let him prepare himself speedily and come unto you; even to Kirtland and inasmuch as he shall harken unto all your council from henceforth he shall be restored unto his former state, and shall be saved unto the uttermost, even as the Lord your God liveth, Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 16 November 1835**

The same night that I received the word of the Lord on Mr. Erastus Holmes’s case, he had, desired that I would inquire at the hand of the Lord whether it was his duty to be baptised here, or wait until he returned home.

The word of the Lord came unto me saying, that Mr. Holmes had better not be baptised here, and that he had better not return by water, also that there were three men that were seeking his destruction, to beware of his enemies.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 29 March 1836**

The voice of the Spirit was that we should come into this place three times, and also call the other presidents, the two Bishops and their councils (each to stand in his place) and fast through the day and also the night and that during this, if we would humble ourselves, we should receive further communication from Him. 

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 29 March 1836**

The word of the Lord came to us through President  Joseph Smith Jun. that those who had entered the holy place must not leave the house until morning but send for such things as were necessary, and also, that during our stay we must clean our feet and partake of the sacrament that we might be made holy before Him, and thereby be qualified to officiate in our calling upon the morrow in washing the feet of the Elders.

**A Revelation given to the Apostle Parley Pratt, while he was on a mission trip in Toronto, July 1836**

Parley! When did I ever reveal anything unto you in a dream and it failed to come to pass?  Well, then, go unto this people and cry into then with a mighty voice that they repent, lest I smite then with a curse and they die;

For, notwithstanding the present fruitfulness of the earth,  there shall be a famine in the land; and not only a famine for bread, but a famine for the word of the Lord;

For I will call my servants out from their midst and send them to the nations afar off.

**Record from the Book of Wilford, dated April 6 1837**

After this matter was arranged there was a glorious ordinance performed upon the heads of those who had been anointed (by the first presidency of the Church Joseph Smith jr Sidney Rigdon, etc. was this ordinance performed. It was as follows:

While all of the anointed there lifted their hands towards heaven this first presidency of the Church confirmed and sealed upon our heads all the blessings of our ordination, anointing and patriarchal with a seal in the presence of God and the Lamb and holy angels that they should all be fulfilled upon our heads that not one jot or tittle should fail and the seal was confirmed upon our heads with a shout of all the anointed with uplifted hand to heaven: HOSANNA. HOSANNA. HOSANNA. to GOD and the LAMB. Amen and Amen and Amen. Hosanna Hosanna Hosanna to God and the LAMB. Amen - Amen. and Amen. Hosanna, Hosanna. Hosanna to GOD and the LAMB. Amen. Amen. And Amen.

This was repeated as it is written and if ever a shout entered the cabinet of heaven that did and was repeated by angels on high and caused the power of God to rest upon us.

O ye Priest of Baal. O, ye gentile religionist O ye inhabitants of Babylon possessing the Mark of the beast; What knowledge have ye of the ordinances or blessings or virtues of the house and Church of God?

Great and marvelous are the blessings and power of the ordinances of the Lord and his gospel made manifest on these occasions.

**Revelation to Joseph Smith Jr, Given in Kirtland, Geauga County, Ohio on Sept 4th 1837 Making known the transgression of John Whitmer and WW. Phelps**

Verily thus saith the Lord unto you my Servant Joseph. My Servants John Whitmer and William W Phelps have done those things which are not pleasing in my sight Therefore if they repent not they shall be removed out of their places, Amen.

**A revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith in November 1837**

Verily thus saith the Lord: Peace shall soon be taken from the earth, and it has already began to be taken; for a lying spirit has gone out upon all the face of the earth and shall perplex the nations, and shall stir them up to anger against one another: for behold saith the Lord, very fierce and very terrible war is near at hand, even at your doors, therefore make haste saith the Lord O ye my people, and gather yourselves together and be at peace among yourselves, or there shall be no safety for you.

**A Revelation given to William Marks through the Prophet Joseph Smith, Early 1838**

In a vision  I saw the angel of the Lord put forth his hand unto Brother Marks and said unto him;

Thou art my son, come here. I will raise thee up for a blessing unto many people. 

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith to Edward Partridge in Kirtland, Jan. 7th 1838**

Thus saith the Lord, my servant Edward and his house shall be numbered with the blessed and Abraham their father, and his name shall be had in sacred remembrance. And again thus saith the Lord, let my people be aware of dissensions among them lest the enemy have power over​ them, Awake my shepherds and warn my people! for behold the wolf cometh to destroy them! receive him not.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith in Kirtland, Ohio on Jan. 12th 1838**

In the presence of Joseph Smith Jr, Sidney Rigdon, Vinson Knight and G W. Robinson at the French Farm, The following inquiry was made of the Lord:

A question asked of the Lord concerning the trying of the first Presidency of the Church of Latter Day Saints for transgression according to the item of Law found in third sec of the Book of covenants 37 verse, Whether the decision of such an council of one stake shall be conclusive for Zion and all the Stake——

Answer: Thus saith the Lord the time has now come when a decision of such an council would not answer for Zion and all her stakes——

Q: What will answer for Zion and all her Stakes?

Answer; Thus saith the Lord let the first presidency of my Church be held in full fellowship in Zion and all her stakes until they shall be found transgressors by such an high council as is named in the 3rd sec. 37 verse of the Book of Covenants, in Zion by 3 witnesses standing against Each member of said presidency and said witnesses shall be of long and faithful standing and such also as cannot be impeached by other witnesses before said council, and when a decision is had by such an council in Zion it shall only be for Zion it shall not answer for her stakes but if said decision be acknowledged by the Council of her stakes then it shall answer for her stakes.

But if it is not acknowledged by the Stakes then such stakes​ may have the privilege of hearing for themselves​ or if said decision shall be acknowledged by a majority of her stakes then it shall answer​ for all​ her stakes.

And again the presidency of said Church may be tried by the whole body of Zion, and the whole body of all her stakes, And again except a majority is had by the voice of the Church of Zion, and the majority of her stakes, the charges will be considered not sustained, and in order to sustain such charge or charges before said Church or her stakes.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith in Kirtland, Ohio on Jan. 12th 1838**

Q: Can any branch of the Church of Latter Day Saints be considered a stake of Zion until they have acknowledged the authority of the first Presidency, by a vote of said Church?

A: Thus saith the Lord: Verily I say unto you, nay.

Q: How then?

Answer. No stake shall be appointed except by the first presidency and this Presidency be acknowledged by the voice of the same, otherwise it shall not be counted as a stake of Zion.

And again except it be dedicated by this Presidency it cannot be acknowledged as a stake of Zion; For unto this end, have I appointed them, in laying the foundation of and establishing my Kingdom.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith in Kirtland, Ohio on Jan. 12th 1838**

Thus saith the Lord: Let the presidency of my Church take their families as soon as it is practicable and a door is open for them and move on to the west as fast as the way is made plain before their faces and let their hearts be comforted for I will be with them.

Verily I say unto you the time has come that your labours are finished in this place, for a season; Therefore arise and get yourselves on to a land which I shall show unto you, even a land flowing with milk and honey.

You are clean from the blood of this people and woe unto those who have become your enemies, who professed my name saith the Lord, for their judgement lingereth not and their damnation slumbereth not.

Let all your faithful friends arise with their families also and get out of this place and gather themselves together unto Zion and be at peace among yourselves, O ye inhabitants of Zion, or there shall be no safety for you.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith to Brigham Young at Far West on April 17th 1838.**

Verily thus Saith the Lord; Let my Servant Brigham Young go unto the place which he has bought on Mill Creek and there provide for his family until an effectual door is opened for the support of his family, until I shall command to go hence, and not to leave his family until they are amply provided for. Amen.

**Revelation Given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on July 8. 1838 in Far West **

O Lord what is thy will concerning WW Phelps and F G. Williams

Verily thus saith the Lord in consequence of their transgressions their former standing has been taken away from them, and now, if they will be saved, let them be ordained as Elders in my Church to Preach my gospel, and to travel abroad from land to land and from place to place to gather mine Elect unto me saith the Lord, and let this be their labours from henceforth. Amen

**Revelation given through Samuel Smith in 1838**

After they had got some distance on their journey, the company divided into three parts, the three brethren named fell in company with Samuel; their provisions gave out, and, after spending several days without food, except eating linden buds and slippery elm bark, they camped upon a small stream, and the company, numbering eight, held a council and appointed Samuel president, that they might receive the word of the Lord in relation to the situation of Joseph the Prophet and those who were with him, also in relation to their families, and what they were to do to obtain food. They all knelt down in a circle, and each one prayed, then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Samuel, and, being filled with the Holy Ghost, he arose and said:—

‘Thus saith the Lord—My servant Joseph is not injured, nor any of his brethren that are with him, but they will all be delivered out of the hands of their enemies. Your families are all well, but anxious about you. Let your hearts be comforted, for I, the Lord, will provide food for you on the morrow.’

**A Revelation given to Lucy Smith on 2 November 1838**

Let your heart be comforted concerning your children, they shall not be harmed by their enemies; and, in less than four years, Joseph shall speak before the judges and great men of the land, for his voice shall be heard in their councils. And in five years time he will have power over all his enemies. 

**A Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith on 16 December 1838**

Verily thus saith the Lord; Be of good cheer, for the keys that I gave unto you are yet with you. 

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball on April 6, 1839**

 My family having been gone about two months, during which time I heard nothing from them. Our brethren being in prison, death and destruction following us wherever we went, I felt very sorrowful and lonely.

The following words came to me, and the spirit said unto me write, which I did by taking a piece of paper and writing on my knee as follows:

A word from the Spirit of the Lord to my servant Heber C. Kimball.

Verily, I say unto my servant Heber: Thou are my son, in whom I am well pleased; for thou art careful to hearken to my words and not transgress my law, nor rebel against my servant Joseph, for thou has a respect to the words of mine anointed, even from the least to the greatest of them; therefore thy name is written in heaven no more to be blotted out forever because of these things; and my spirit and blessing shall rest down upon thy posterity forever and forever, for they shall be called after thy name, for thou shalt have many more sons and daughters, for thy seed shall be numerous as the sands upon the seashore.

Therefore my servant Heber, be faithful, go forth in my name, and I will go with you, and be on your right hand and on your left, and my angels shall go before you and raise you up when you are cast down and afflicted; remember that I am always with you, even to the end, therefore be of good cheer, my son, and my spirit shall be in your heart to teach you the peaceable things of the kingdom; trouble not thyself about thy family, for they are in my hands; I will feed them and clothe them and make unto them friends.

They never shall want for food nor raiment, houses nor lands, fathers nor mothers, brothers nor sisters, and peace shall rest upon them forever, if thou wilt be faithful and go forth and preach my gospel to the nations of the earth, for thou shalt be blessed in this thing, and thy tongue shall be unloosed to such a degree that has not entered into thy heart as yet, and the children of men shall believe thy words, and flock to the water for baptism even as they did to my servant John; for thou shalt be great in winning souls to me, for this is thy gift and calling, and there shall be no gift withheld from thee, if thou art faithful, therefore be faithful and I will give thee favor in the eyes of the people: be humble and kind and you shall obtain kindness; be merciful, and you shall obtain mercy, and I will be with you even unto the end. Amen.”

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith to Oliver Granger on 13th May, 1839**

Earnestly solicit the Saints scattered abroad to strengthen his hands with all their might, and to put such means into his hands as shall enable him to accomplish his lawful designs and purposes, according to the commandments, and according to the instructions which he shall give unto them. And that they entrust him with moneys, lands, chattels, and goods, to assist him in this work; and it shall redound greatly to the interest and welfare, peace and satisfaction of my Saints, saith the Lord God, for this is an honorable agency which I have appointed unto him, saith the Lord. And again, verily, thus saith the Lord, I will lift up my servant Oliver, and beget for him a great name on the earth, and among my people, because of the integrity of his soul: therefore, let all my Saints abound unto him, with all liberality and long suffering, and it shall be a blessing on their heads.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Orson Hyde in March 1840**

  In the early part of March last, I retired to my bed one evening as usual; And while contemplating and inquiring out, in my own mind, the field of my ministerial labors for the then coming season, the vision of the Lord, like clouds of light, burst upon my view. The cities of London, Amsterdam, Constantinople, and Jerusalem all appeared in succession before me;

And the Spirit said unto me:

Here are many of the children of Abraham whom I will gather to the land that I gave to their fathers, and here also is the field of your labors.

A strict observance of the movements of the Jews, and a careful examination of their faith relative to their expected Messiah—the setting up of his kingdom among them, and the overthrow of the present kingdoms and governments of the Gentiles, will serve to open the eyes of many of the uncircumcised, when faithfully laid before them, that the great day of the Lord comes not upon them unawares as a thief.  

Take therefore proper credentials from my people, your brethren, and also from the Governor of your state, with the seal of authority thereon, and go ye forth to the cities which have been shown unto you, and declare these words unto Judah, and say: Blow ye the trumpet in the land; cry, gather together; and say, assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defended cities.

Let the standard be reared towards Zion. Retire!  Stay not; for I will bring evil from the north and a great destruction.

The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way, He is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate, and thy cities shall be laid waste without inhabitant.

Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.

Let your warning voice be heard among the Gentiles as you pass; And call ye upon them in my name for aid and for assistance.

With you it mattereth not whether it be little or much; but to Me it belongeth to show favor unto them who show favor unto you.

Murmur not, therefore neither be ye sorrowful that the people are slow to hear your petition; but do as has been told you.  

All things shall work together for your good if you are humble and keep my commandments; For it must needs be that all men be left without excuse, that a righteous retribution may be awarded to all.

The vision continued open for about six hours, that I did not close my eyes in sleep. In this time many things were shown unto me which I have never written;

Neither shall I write them until they are fulfilled in Jerusalem.

**Revelation Received by the Apostle Wilford Woodruff of the Quorum of the Twelve; on Friday, October 2, 1840,  while he was serving in the British Mission with the Quorum of Apostles, serving in Manchester, England**

Elder Heber C. Kimball and myself arose from our
beds in the morning with the power of God
resting upon us; yea, the Spirit of God is like fire
shut up in my bones.

O my God! Why is Thy Spirit thus upon me?
Why is mine eyes this morning a fountain of
tears? What art Thou about to do, O my God,
that does this thing?

I ask Thee, Father, to tell it unto me in the
name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son.

Thus saith the Lord God unto thee, My servant
Wilford. This is My Spirit that resteth upon thee
to enlighten thy mind, to show thee things to
come;

Not only upon thee, but upon all My faithful
servants upon the face of the whole earth.

Therefore, lift up thy voice and spare not, for I
am about to perform a great work upon the face
of the earth, saith the LORD.

Mine indignation is about to be poured out
without measure upon the heads of this nation,
and all the nations of the earth, and they shall not
escape.

The cry of the poor, the widow and orphan is
ascending into Mine ears, saith the LORD, and I
am about to avenge the cry of Mine elect by
laying low the oppressor, and executing the
decree of Mine heart upon all the ungodly from
among men.

Therefore, I put My Spirit upon thee and say
unto thee, Lift up thy voice and spare not! And
call upon all men to repent that come within the
sound of thy voice-- and many souls shall be
given unto thee, and great shall be thy reward,
and eternal shall be thy glory, saith the LORD.

**Revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith, recorded January 5, 1841**

Joseph Smith said to the Congregation that he for a length of time, thought on phrenology; and that he had a Revelation. 

The Lord Rebuked him sharply in Crediting such a thing; and further said there was No Reality in such a science But was the works of the Devil; he also said the Lord had told him that Brother Law would Do well, he would Go and preach the Gospel.

**1841: A Religious Proclamation - From Joseph Smith, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Prophet, Seer, and Revelator of the Most High God, to the President of the United States of North America— the Governors of the several States— the Emperors, Kings, and Princes of the earth— the Executives of all nations— the Chiefs of all tribes— and all occupying high places in the administration of governments.**

“Thus saith the Lord God, Behold I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. And kings shall be thy nursing-fathers, and their queens thy nursing-mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.”

Now in obedience to a revelation given January 19th, AD. 1841, I proceed to call upon you to yield yourselves as obedient subjects to the requisitions of heaven, in contributing to the fulfilment of the predictions of the prophets—to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of and abandon your sins, be immersed for the remission of your sins, receive to imposition of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, and, in fine, to embrace the gospel in its beauty and fulness. 

“And now, why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptised, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” This is more honorable than the diadems of kings or the pearls of princes— it will confer upon you an excellence unsurpassed, a glory which you never knew.

“God came from Teman, and the Holy one from mount Paran;” and, as his glory covered the heavens, so now will it environ the earth, and illumine the holy city, until all the obedient shall rejoice in the brightness of his coming, and bask in the sun-shine of God’s benignity. Hasten then to Zion! and contribute to the erection of temples, sanctuaries, and palaces, such as this world never saw— with their walls finished with the pencil of Raphael, decorated with gold, and pearls, and precious stones, beautified by the finger of God.

Tho’ your minds are yet darkened, and your eyes dim of sight, by the traditions, superstitions, and follies of the age, imposed upon you by the Papal See, and hierarchy, of Rome; the Patriarch, and ecclesiastical council, of Constantinople; and the priesthood of the protestant sects; the God of heaven addresses you as intelligent beings, and directs you to come out from among them, that you may become the elite of the kingdom— bright, and shining lights in your Father’s house. 

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 20 March 1841**

Brother William Allred, Bishop of the Stake at Pleasant Vale, and also Brother Henry W. Miller President of the Stake at Freedom, desire President Joseph Smith to enquire of the Lord, his will concerning them:

Let my servants William Allred, and Henry W Miller have an agency for the selling of stock for the Nauvoo House, and assist my servants Lyman Wight, Peter Haws, George Miller and John Snider in building said house, and let my servants William Allred and Henry W. Miller take stock in the house, that the poor of my people may have employment, and that accommodations may be made for the strangers who shall come to visit this place, and for this purpose let them devote all their properties, saith the Lord.

**A revelation given through the Presiding Patriarch Hyrum Smith, Recorded on 31 October 1841**

All the saints that dwell in that land are commanded to come away, for this is, 'Thus saith the Lord;' Therefore pay out no monies nor properties for houses, nor lands, in that country, for if you do, you will lose them, for the time shall come that you shall not possess them in peace but shall be scourged with a sore scourge; yet your children may possess them, but not until many years shall pass away.

And; as to the organization of that branch of the church, it is not according to the spirit and will of God: and as to the designs of the leading members of that branch relative to the printing press, and the ordaining of Elders, and sending out Elders to beg for the poor, are not according to the will of God; and in these things they shall not prosper, for they have neglected the House of the Lord, the Baptismal Font, in this place, wherein their dead may be redeemed, and the key of knowledge that unfolds the dispensation of the fullness of times may be turned, and the mysteries of God be unfolded, upon which their salvation and the salvation of the world, and the redemption of their dead depends.

For 'Thus saith the Lord,' 'there shall not be a general assembly for a general conference assembled together until the House of the Lord shall be finished, and the Baptismal Font, and if we are not diligent the church shall be rejected, and their dead also,' 'saith the Lord,' therefore, dear Brother, any proceedings otherwise than to put forth their hands with their might to do this work, is not according to the will of God, and shall not prosper.

Therefore tarry, not in any place whatever, but come forth unto this place from all the world, until it is filled up and polished, and sanctified according to my word, saith the Lord, come ye forth from the ends of the earth, that I may hide you from mine indignation that shall scourge the wicked, and then I will send forth and build up Kirtland, and it shall be polished and refined according to my word; therefore, your doings and your organizations, and designs in printing, or any of your councils, are not of me, saith the Lord, even so, Amen.

**A Revelation Given Through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 2 October 1841**

There shall be no more baptisms for the dead, until the ordinance can be attended to in the Lord’s House; and the Church shall not hold another General Conference, until they can meet in said house. For thus saith the Lord!

Verily thus saith the Lord unto you my servant Joseph: That inasmuch as you have called upon me to know my will concerning my handmaid Nancy Marinda Hyde;  Behold it is my will that she should have a better place prepared for her than that in which she now lives, in order that her life may be spared unto her.

Therefore go and say unto my servant Ebenezer Robinson and To my handmaid, his wife, Let them open their doors and take her and her children into their house. and take care of them faithfully and kindly until my Servant Orson Hyde returns from his mission or until some other provision can be made for her welfare and safety.

Let them do these things and spare not, and I the Lord will bless them and heal them if they do it not grudgingly saith the Lord God. And she shall be a blessing unto them,— and let my handmaid Nancy Marinda Hyde hearken to the counsel of my servant Joseph in all things whatsoever he shall teach unto her, and it shall be a blessing upon her and upon her children after her. unto her Justification saith the Lord.

Verily thus Saith the Lord; Let my Servant John Snider take a mission to the Eastern Continent unto all the conferences that are now sitting in that region and let him carry a package of Epistles, that shall be written by my Servants the Twelve, making known unto them their duties concerning the building of my houses which I have appointed unto you, saith the Lord.

That they may bring their Gold and their Silver and their precious Stones, and the box tree and the Fir tree and all fine wood and beautify the place of my sanctuary saith the Lord.

And let him return with all means speedily which shall be put into his hands. Even so, Amen. 

**A revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith to the Twelve concerning the Times and Seasons, on 28 January 1842**

Verily thus saith the Lord unto you my servant Joseph: Go and say unto the Twelve That it is my will to have them take in hand the Editorial department of the Times and Seasons according to that manifestation which Shall be given unto them by the Power of My Holy Spirit in the midst of their counsel Saith the Lord. Amen.

Verily thus saith the Lord unto you my servant Joseph by the voice of my Spirit; Hiram Kimball has been insinuating evil and forming evil opinions against you with others, and if he continue in them he and they shall be accursed for I am the Lord thy God and will stand by thee and bless thee. Amen.

**Original D&C Section 101, Published October 1, 1842**

ON MARRIAGE.

According to the custom of all civilized nations, marriage is regulated by laws and ceremonies: therefore we believe, that all marriages in this church of Christ of Latter Day Saints, should be solemnized in a public meeting, or feast, prepared for that purpose: and that the solemnization should be performed by a presiding high priest, high priest, bishop, elder, or priest, not even prohibiting those persons who are desirous to get married, of being married by other authority.-We believe that it is not right to prohibit members of this church from marrying out of the church, if it be their determination so to do, but such persons will be considered weak in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Marriage should be celebrated with prayer and thanksgiving; and at the solemnization, the persons to be married, standing together, the man on the right, and the woman on the left, shall be addressed, by the person officiating, as he shall be directed by the holy Spirit; and if there be no legal objections, he shall say, calling each by their names: “You both mutually agree to be each other’s companion, husband and wife, observing the legal rights belonging to this condition; that is, keeping yourselves wholly for each other, and from all others, during your lives.” And when they have answered “Yes,” he shall pronounce them “husband and wife” in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by virtue of the laws of the country and authority vested in him: “may God add his blessings and keep you to fulfil [fulfill] your covenants from henceforth and forever. Amen.”

The clerk of every church should keep a record of all marriages, solemnized in his branch.

All legal contracts of marriage made before a person is baptized into this church, should be held sacred and fulfilled. Inasmuch as this church of Christ has been reproached with the crime of fornication, and polygamy: we declare that we believe, that one man should have one wife; and one woman, but one husband, except in case of death, when either is at liberty to marry again. It is not right to persuade a woman to be baptized contrary to the will of her husband, neither is it lawful to influence her to leave her husband. All children are bound by law to obey their parents; and to influence them to embrace any religious faith, or be baptized, or leave their parents without their consent, is unlawful and unjust. We believe that husbands, parents and masters who exercise control over their wives, children, and servants and prevent them from embracing the truth, will have to answer for that sin.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith on 25 November 1843**

Let my servant John E. Page take his departure speedily from the City of Boston, and go directly to the city of Washington, and there labor diligently in proclaiming my gospel to the inhabitants thereof, and if he is humble and faithful, lo! I will be with him, and will give him the hearts of the people that he may do them good, and build up a church unto my name in that City.

**Revelation through the Prophet Joseph Smith given to the Council of Fifty on 14 March 1844**

This day the council was together all day again, and the same subjects continued in discussion: as previously. The name of the council was discussed and the Lord was pleased to give the following Revelation;

"Verily thus saith the Lord, this is the name by which you shall be called, The Kingdom of God and his Laws, with the keys and power thereof, and judgement in the hands of his servants.

**Revelation to the Council of Fifty, 18 April 1844**

We have supplicated the great I am, that he would make known his will unto his servants, concerning this, his last kingdom, and the law, by which his people shall be governed: And the voice of the Lord unto us was,—

Verily thus saith the Lord, this is the name by which you shall be called, the kingdom of God and his Laws, with the keys and power thereof, and Judgement in the hands of his servants, Ahman Christ.

Art. 1st I Am, the Lord thy God, ruling the armies of heaven above, and among the nations of the earth beneath; I have created all men of one blood; I set up one, and I put down another, and to me alone belongs the right, the power, the majesty, the glory, and the dominion; I alone am King of Kings, and Lord of Lords; I alone am the rightful lawgiver to man; I alone have a right to judge the inhabitants of the earth, which is my footstool; and I will acknowledge no other law, rule, power, Authority or dominion, than that which is instituted by me, the great I am, And no other government, Kingdom, Dominion, authority, power, rule, or law, shall be acknowledged by my people.

Art. 2nd I the Lord will do nothing but what I have revealed or shall reveal unto my servants the prophets and I have appointed one man, holding the keys and authority, pertaining to my holy priesthood, to whom I will reveal my laws, my statutes, my ordinances, my Judgements, my will and pleasure concerning my kingdom on the earth.

Art. 3rd And my Servant and Prophet whom I have called and chosen shall have power to appoint Judges and officers in my kingdom, And my people shall have the right to choose or refuse those officers and judges, by common consent: And the judges who shall be approved by my people shall condemn the guilty, and let the innocent go free! And shall have power to execute, and shall execute, justice and judgement in righteousness, and punish transgressors throughout all my kingdom on the earth; and if the judges or officers transgress, they shall be punished according to my laws.

**Revelation through the Prophet Joseph Smith to the Council of Fifty, 25 April 1844**

Verily thus saith the Lord, ye are my constitution, and I am your God, and ye are my spokesmen. From henceforth do as I shall command you. Saith the Lord.

**Revelation to the Apostle Parley P. Pratt of the Quorum of the Twelve; received between Chicago and Nauvoo, Illinois, in July 1844**

The Spirit said unto me: Lift up your head and rejoice; for behold! it is well with my servants Joseph and Hyrum.

My servant Joseph still holds the keys of my kingdom in this dispensation, and he shall stand in due time on the earth, in the flesh, and fulfil that to which he is appointed.

Go and say unto my people in Nauvoo, that they shall continue to pursue their daily duties and take care of themselves, and make no movement in Church government to reorganize or alter anything until the return of the remainder of the Quorum of the Twelve.

But exhort them that they continue to build the House of the Lord which I have commanded them to build in Nauvoo.

**Revelation to the Apostle Brigham Young, President of the Quorum of the Twelve; received at Nauvoo, Illinois, on 24 January 1845**

I inquired of the Lord whether we should stay here  and finish the temple. The answer was we should.

**Revelation to the Apostle Heber C. Kimball of the Quorum of the Twelve; received at Nauvoo, Illinois, on 25 January 1845**

I sat down in my house in the presence of my wife and inquired of the Lord by the Rod as follows, If we should finish the Temple: It was verily yes, that my sins were forgiven and that I should overcome, and get my Appointment of my inheritance while in the probation and that the Temple committee were not Enemies to the Twelve Apostles.

**A Revelation from the Lord God given or recorded through the Apostle Orson Pratt of the Quorum of the Twelve; as recorded in his 1845 Edition of the Prophetic Almanac, Titled "Christ and the World"**

Whatsoever is written by the prophets and apostles which were of old concerning Me, must be fulfilled; And the time is nigh at hand, when I will come down from my habitation in the heavens, and stand again upon the earth, in power and great glory; And I will establish my kingdom and laws over all the earth; and my will shall be done on the earth as it is done in heaven.

But before that great day, there must needs be preparation; that all things that are written may be fulfilled.

Behold, I the Lord will reason with you, O children of the earth, even as one man reasoneth with another, that you may understand.

When I came upon the earth before, did I not fulfill every jot and tittle of those scriptures of the prophets which, related to the circumstances of my conception, birth, ministry, sufferings, death, burial, and resurrection?

Was I not conceived of a virgin, born in Bethlehem, called out of Egypt, turned aside into Nazareth, to fulfill that which was written? Was I not betrayed for thirty pieces of silver, and was it not a treacherous kiss from one of my own household?

Was I not scourged and spit upon?  Did they not pierce my hands, side and feet; And did they not cast lots for my vesture, and divide my raiment among them, all to fulfill the scriptures?

Was I not numbered with transgressors?  Did they not pass by Me without breaking my bones, although they broke the bones of the two which were crucified with Me?

  Was not my life taken from the earth, and did I not make my bed with the rich in my death, to fulfill the scriptures?   Did I not rise again the third day, because it was written that I should not see corruption?

Verily I say unto you, all these things were done to fulfill the words of the prophet.

Again, did I not predict the destruction of Jerusalem, and the temple; and the dispersion and long captivity of the Jews?  Did I not forewarn my disciples to flee out of Judea to the mountains?

Is it not written by my  servant  Luke? And has it not come to pass, every whit, in relation to the city and temple, and in relation to the Jewish nation? Did I not say that Jerusalem should be trodden under foot of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled?   Are not all these things fulfilled even unto this day?

Again, did I not say there should be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars, and upon the earth; distress of nations with perplexity—mens hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which should come upon the earth?

Did I not forewarn you, that when you see these signs begin to come to pass, you might know that the Kingdom of God was nigh at hand, and that all the tribes of the earth should mourn, and they should see Me coming with the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory?

Have not these signs begun to come to pass?

Why then do some affirm that the coming of the Lord is not near, or that I will not come in person, in a cloud, in like manner as I ascended?  For I will come upon them unawares, and they shall not reign with Me on the earth.

Again, there are many who err on the other extreme, not knowing the scriptures, neither the power of God.

Behold they set an appointed time for my coming, and it fails to come to pass; and they cry unto Me with much importunity, to come down among them, and not to disappoint them. But they cannot alter the times and seasons which the Father hath put in his own power, nor cause Me to disregard that which is written.

Behold my servant Paul testified that the heavens must receive Me until the times of restitution of all things which I had spoken by the mouth of all my holy prophets since the world began.

I also testified to my people, while in the flesh, that this gospel of the kingdom should first be preached to all nations for a testimony, and then I would come.

  My servant Peter also testified that I would come in flaming fire, taking vengeance on all those who know not God and obey not the gospel.

Now verily I say unto you, if I were to come before these scriptures were fulfilled, I should be guilty both of falsehood and injustice.

It would be falsehood to break my word, and it would be unjust to destroy a people for not obeying that which they had not been taught, nor had sufficient opportunity to obey.

Indeed, many of the very people who manifest so much zeal to warn others, and who pray so earnestly for my coming, have not themselves understood the gospel nor obeyed it; and should I come, in answer to their prayers, it would be to their own destruction.

Again, the circumstances of my coming, and the very place where I will set my feet are clearly foretold by the prophets.

Behold I have told you by the mouth of my servant Zacharaiah, that my people Israel should be gathered to the land of Canaan, which I gave unto Abraham and his seed for an everlasting inheritance, and that Jerusalem should be rebuilt, and the Temple and sanctuary also; And that all the nations round about should be gathered there to fight against my people Israel; And that Judah should fight in their own defence, and that the weak should be as David, and the strong among them should be as the angel of the Lord; and thus the nations who should be in the siege against Jerusalem should be cut in pieces.

And then, and under those circumstances they should look upon Me whom they had pierced, and should mourn and repent, and find a fountain opened in that day for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and uncleaness.

Not only did my servant Zacharaiah tell these things, but he also told that my feet in that day should stand upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east. That the earth would cleave in twain beneath my feet and the mountain rend asunder at my presence.

That half of the mountain would remove to the north, and the other half to the south, and make a great valley where the mountain now stands.

That I would come, and all the saints with Me in that day, to that place, and under those circumstances to defend the Jews, to destroy their enemies, and to cleanse and purify Jerusalem.

That Jerusalem should be holy, and all the land round about should be safely inhabited from that time forth; and that summer and winter would succeed each other, and the year roll round in its season from that time forth.

That all the nations of the land should go up to Jerusalem from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles; And that there should be one Lord, and his name one, and He should be King over all the earth.

Again, my servant Daniel was shown a vision of my coming in a cloud to take the dominion of the earth; and that all kingdoms should serve and obey Me.

But before I came he saw my kingdom organized in its beauty by the Ancient of Days, and all prepared to receive Me.

Know ye therefore, O inhabitants of the earth, that all these and many other scriptures must be fulfilled in connection with my coming; And that I cannot come until the times of restoration are fulfilled, and until the circumstances and preparations are completed as it is written; And that when all things are prepared, I will come, and bring all the saints with Me to reign on Earth.

Thrones shall be cast down, kingdoms and states shall be broken up, empires shall rend, but my word shall all be fulfilled, and my kingdom shall stand forever.

My servant David shall then be seated on the throne of Israel at Jerusalem; Mine apostles who suffered with Me in the flesh, shall be seated on twelve thrones to administer justice and judgment to the twelve tribes; And my saints shall be placed in power upon the earth and administer the affairs of government.

My laws shall be the only creed, the only standard of justice; and my saints the only kings, governors, and magistrates upon the earth.

Intelligence and truth shall prevail; error and darkness flee away; death shall be swallowed up in victory; life shall be everlasting; and peace and love shall crown the whole, and thrill through every bosom.

Earth shall feel the blessing.  The parched ground shall abound in pools, the thirsty land in springs of water; the desert shall blossom as the rose, and vegetation bloom as Eden, while all the beasts of the field dwell in peace.

Man shall then plant gardens and eat the fruit of them; he shall plant vineyards and drink the wine of them; he shall build houses and inhabit them.

His children shall multiply in the earth and come to a good old age; and he whose years are numbered, shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye, and shall live and reign with Me forever.

And now verily I say unto you, and unto all men, repent of your errors and wicked works, obey my gospel, and become members of my kingdom, that there may be one fold and one shepherd.

And in order that you may understand my gospel in its plainness and in its fullness, I will now declare it unto you, even the gospel which you must obey, in order to be prepared for my coming; without which you can never reign with Me on the earth.

Believe in Me, for I have been crucified and have risen again from the dead as your Lord and your Redeemer.

Repent of all your errors, and of all your sins and follies; come unto Me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, and be baptized in my name for remission of sins.

Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of the hands of my servants, and then serve Me faithfully to the end, and you shall have eternal life.

Behold, I the Lord have spoken it by the mouth of my servant, and will  bear  witness of its truth by my spirit, to all those who will seek with all their hearts to know and do the truth.  Even so.  Amen.

**Proclamation of the Twelve Apostles, delivered by commandment on April 6th 1845**

PROCLAMATION

OF THE TWELVE APOSTLES OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS

CHRIST, OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS.

To all the King's of the World;

To the President of the United States of America;

To the Governors of the several States;

And to the Rulers and People of all Nations:

GREETING:

KNOW YE:—

THAT the kingdom of God has come: as has been predicted by ancient prophets, and prayed for in all ages; even that kingdom which shall fill the whole earth, and shall stand for ever.

The great Eloheem Jehovah has been pleased once more to speak from the heavens: and also to commune with man upon the earth, by means of open visions, and by the ministration of HOLY MESSENGERS.

By this means the great and eternal High Priesthood, after the Order of his Son, even the Apostleship, has been restored; or, returned to the earth.

This High Priesthood, or Apostleship, holds the keys of the kingdom of God, and power to bind on earth that which shall be bound in heaven; and to loose on earth that which shall be loosed in heaven. And, in fine, to do, and to administer in all things pertaining to the ordinances, organization, government and direction of the kingdom of God.

Being established in these last days for the restoration of all things spoken by the prophets since the world began; and in order to prepare the way for the coming of the Son of Man.

And we now bear witness that his coming is near at hand; and not many years hence, the nations and their kings shall see him coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

In order to meet this great event there must needs be a preparation.

Therefore we send unto you with authority from on high, and command you all to repent and humble yourselves as little children, before the majesty of the Holy One; and come unto Jesus with a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and be baptized in his name, for the remission of sins (that is, be buried in the water in the likeness of his burial and rise again to newness of life, in the likeness of his resurrection), and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, through the laying on of the hands of the Apostles and elders, of this great and last dispensation of mercy to man.

This Spirit shall bear witness to you, of the truth of our testimony; and shall enlighten your minds, and be in you as the spirit of prophecy and revelation. It shall bring things past to your understanding and remembrance; and shall show you things to come.

It shall also impart unto you many great and glorious gifts; such as the gift of healing the sick, and of being healed, by the laying on of hands in the name of Jesus; and of expelling Demons; and even of seeing visions, and conversing with Angels and spirits from the unseen world.

By the light of this Spirit, received through the ministration of the ordinances—by the power and authority of the Holy Apostleship and Priesthood, you will be enabled to understand, and to be the children of light; and thus be prepared to escape all the things that are coming on the earth, and so stand before the Son of Man.

We testify that the foregoing doctrine is the doctrine or gospel of Jesus Christ, in its fulness; and that it is the only true, everlasting, and unchangeable gospel; and the only plan revealed on earth whereby man can be saved.

We also bear testimony that the "Indians" (so called) of North and South America are a remnant of the tribes of Israel; as is now made manifest by the discovery and revelation of their ancient oracles and records.

And that they are about to be gathered, civilized, and made one nation in this glorious land.

They will also come to the knowledge of their forefathers, and of the fulness of the gospel; and they will embrace it, and become a righteous branch of the house of Israel.

And we further testify that the Lord has appointed a holy city and temple to be built on this continent for the endowment and ordinances pertaining to the priesthood; and for the Gentiles, and the remnant of Israel to resort unto, in order to worship the Lord; and to be taught in his ways and walk in his paths: in short, to finish their preparations for the coming of the Lord.

And we further testify, that the Jews among all nations are hereby commanded, in the name of the Messiah, to prepare, to return to Jerusalem in Palestine; and to rebuild that city and temple unto the Lord:

And also to organize and establish their own political government, under their own rulers, judges, and governors in that country.

For be it known unto them that we now hold the keys of the priesthood and kingdom which is soon to be restored unto them.

Therefore let them also repent and prepare to obey the ordinances of God.

And now, O ye kings, rulers, and people of the Gentiles: hear ye the word of the Lord; for this commandment is for you. You are not only required to repent and obey the gospel in its fulness, and thus become members or citizens of the kingdom of God, but you are also hereby commanded, in the name of Jesus Christ, to put your silver and your gold, your ships and steam-vessels, your railroad trains and your horses, chariots, camels, mules, and litters, into active use, for the fulfillment of these purposes. For be it known unto you, that the only salvation which remains for the Gentiles, is for them to be identified in the same covenant, and to worship at the same altar with Israel. In short, they must come to the same standard. For, there shall be one Lord, and his name one, and He shall be king over all the earth.

The Latter-day Saints, since their first organization in the year 1830, have been a poor, persecuted, abused, and afflicted people. They have sacrificed their time and property freely, for the sake of laying the foundation of the kingdom of God, and enlarging its dominion, by the ministry of the gospel. They have suffered privation, hunger, imprisonment, and the loss of houses, lands, home, and political rights, for their testimony.

And this is not all; but their first founder, Mr. Joseph Smith, whom God raised up as a Prophet and Apostle, mighty in word and in deed, and his brother Hirum, who was also a prophet, together with many others, have suffered a cruel martyrdom in the cause of truth; and have sealed their testimony with their blood. And still the work has, as it were, but just begun.

A great, a glorious, and a mighty work is yet to be achieved, in spreading the truth and kingdom among the Gentiles—in restoring, organizing, instructing and establishing the Jews—in gathering, instructing, relieving, civilizing, educating and administering salvation to the remnant of Israel on this continent; in building Jerusalem in Palestine; and the cities, stakes, temples, and sanctuaries of Zion in America; and in gathering the Gentiles into the same covenant and organization—instructing them in all things for their sanctification and preparation; that the whole Church of the Saints, both Gentile, Jew and Israel, may be prepared as a bride, for the coming of the Lord.

And now, O ye kings, rulers, presidents, governors, judges, legislators, nobles, lords, and rich men of the earth; will you leave us, to struggle alone, and to toil unaided in so great a work? Or will you share in the labors, toils, sacrifices, honors and blessings of the same?

Have you not the same interest in it that we have? Is it not sent forth to renovate the world—to enlighten the nations—to cover the earth with light, knowledge, truth, union, peace and love? And thus usher in the great millennium, or sabbath of rest, so long expected and sought for by all good men? We bear testimony that it is. And the fulfillment of our words will establish their truth, to millions yet unborn: while there are those now living upon the earth who will live to see the consummation.

Come, then, to the help of the Lord; and let us have your aid and protection—and your willing and hearty co-operation, in this, the greatest of all revolutions.

Again, we say, by the word of the Lord to the people, as well as to the rulers: your aid and assistance is required in this great work, and you are hereby invited, in the name of Jesus, to take an active part in it from this day forward.

Open your church, doors, and hearts for the truth. Hear the Apostles and elders of the church of the Saints, when they come into your cities and neighborhoods. Read and search the scriptures carefully and see whether these things are so—read the publications of the Saints, and help to publish them to others. Seek for the witness of the Spirit, and come and obey the glorious fulness of the gospel: and help us build the cities and sanctuaries of our God.

The sons and daughters of Zion will soon be required to devote a portion of their time in instructing the children of the forest. For they must be educated, and instructed in all the arts of civil life, as well as in the gospel. They must be clothed, fed, and instructed in the principles and practice of virtue, modesty, temperance, cleanliness, industry, mechanical arts, manners, customs, dress, music, and all other things which are calculated in their nature to refine, purify, exalt and glorify them, as the sons and daughters of the royal house of Israel, and of Joseph; who are making ready for the coming of the bridegroom.

Know assuredly, that whether you come to the help of the Saints in this great work, or whether you make light of this message, and withhold your aid and co-operation, it is all the same as to the success and final triumph of the work. For it is the work of the great God; for which his WORD and OATH has been pledged, from before the foundation of the world. And the same promise and oath has been renewed unto man from the beginning, down through each succeeding dispensation: AND CONFIRMED AGAIN BY HIS OWN VOICE OUT OF THE HEAVENS IN THE PRESENT AGE. Therefore he is bound to fulfil it; and to overcome every obstacle.

The loss will therefore be on their own part, and not on the part of God, or of his Saints, should the people neglect their duty in the great work of modern restoration.

There is also another consideration of vast importance to all the rulers and people of the world, in regard to this matter. It is this: As this work progresses in its onward course, and becomes more and more an object of political and religious interest and excitement, no king, ruler, or subject, no community or individual, will stand neutral. All will at length be influenced by one spirit or the other; and will take sides either for or against the kingdom of God, and the fulfilment of the prophets, in the great restoration and return of his long dispersed covenant people.

Some will act the part of the venerable Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses; or the noble Cyrus; and will aid and bless the people of God; or like Ruth, the Moabitess, will forsake their people and their kindred and country, and will say to the Saints, or to Israel: "This people shall be my people, and their God my God." While others will walk in the footsteps of a Pharaoh, or a Balak, and will harden their hearts, and fight against God, and seek to destroy his people. These will commune with priests and prophets who love the wages of unrighteousness; and who, like Balaam, will seek to curse, or to find enchantments against Israel.

You cannot therefore stand as idle and disinterested spectators of the scenes and events which are calculated in their very nature to reduce all nations and creeds to one political and religious standard, and thus put an end to Babel forms and names, and to strife and war. You will, therefore, either be led by the good Spirit to cast in your lot, and to take a lively interest with the Saints of the Most High, and the covenant people of the Lord, or on the other hand, you will become their inveterate enemy, and oppose them by every means in your power.

To such an extreme will this great division finally extend, that the nations of the old world will combine to oppose these things by military force. They will send a great army to Palestine, against the Jews; and they will besiege their city, and will reduce the inhabitants of Jerusalem to the greatest extreme of distress and misery.

Then will commence a struggle in which the fate of nations and empires will be suspended on a single battle.

In this battle the governors and people of Judah distinguish themselves for their bravery and warlike achievements. The weak among them will be like David, and the strong among them will be like God: or like the angel of the Lord.

In that day the Lord will pour upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplication, and they shall look upon the Messiah whom they have pierced.

For lo! he will descend from heaven, as the defender of the Jews: and to complete their victory. His feet will stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which shall cleave in sunder at his presence, and remove one half to the north, and the other to the south; thus forming a great valley where the mountain now stands.

The earth will quake around him, while storm and tempest, hail and plague, are mingled with the clash of arms, the roar of artillery, the shouts of victory, and the groans of the wounded and dying.

In that day all who are in the siege, both against Judea and against Jerusalem, shall be cut in pieces; though all the people of the earth should be gathered together against it.

This signal victory on the part of the Jews, so unlooked for by the nations, and attended with the personal advent of Messiah, and the accompanying events, will change the whole order of things in Europe and Asia, in regard to political and religious organization, and government.

The Jews as a nation become holy from that day forward; and their city and sanctuary becomes holy. There also the Messiah establishes his throne, and seat of government.

Jerusalem then becomes the seat of empire, and the great centre and capital of the old world.

All the families of the land shall then go up to Jerusalem once a year, to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts, and to keep the feast of Tabernacles.

Those who refuse to go up, shall have no rain, but shall be smitten with dearth and famine. And if the family of Egypt go not up (as it never rains there) they shall be smitten with the plague. And thus all things shall be fulfilled according to the words of the holy prophets of old, and the word of the Lord which is now revealed, to confirm and fulfil them.

In short the kings, rulers, priests and people of Europe, and of the old world, shall know this once that there is a God in Israel, who, as in days of old, can utter his voice, and it shall be obeyed.

The courts of Rome, London, Paris, Constantinople, Petersburgh, and all others, will then have to yield the point, and do homage, and all pay tribute to one Great Centre, and to one mighty Sovereign, or, THRONES WILL BE CAST DOWN. AND KINGDOMS WILL CEASE TO BE.

Priests, bishops, and clergy, whether Catholic, Protestant, or Mahomedan, will then have to yield their pretended claims to the priesthood, together with titles, honors, creeds and names; and reverence and obey the true and royal priesthood of the order of Melchisedech, and of Aaron; restored to the rightful heirs, the nobility of Israel; or, the dearth and famine will consume them, and the plague sweep them quickly down to the pit, as in the case of Korah, Dathan and Abiram, who pretended to the priesthood, and rebelled against God's chosen priests and prophets, in the days of Moses.

While these great events are rolling on the wheels of time, and being fulfilled in the old world, the Western Continent will present a scene of grandeur, greatness, and glory, far surpassing the scene just described.

The Lord will make her that halted a remnant; and gather her that was driven out and afflicted; and make her who was cast afar off, a strong nation; and will reign over them in Mount Zion from that time forth and for ever.

Or, in other words, He will assemble the Natives the remnants of Joseph in America; and make of them a great, and strong, and powerful nation: and he will civilize and enlighten them and will establish a holy city, and temple, and seat of government among them, which shall be called Zion.

And there shall be his tabernacle, his sanctuary, his throne, and seat of government for the whole continent of North and South America for ever.

In short, it will be to the western hemisphere what Jerusalem will be to the eastern.

And there the Messiah will visit them in person; and the old Saints, who will then have been raised from the dead, will be with him. And he will establish his kingdom and laws over all the land.

To this city, and to its several branches or stakes, shall the Gentiles seek, as to a standard of light and knowledge. Yea, the nations, and their kings and nobles, shall say, Come and let us go up to the Mount Zion, and to the temple of the Lord; where his holy priesthood stand to minister continually before the Lord; and where we may be instructed more fully, and receive the ordinances of remission, and of sanctification, and redemption; and thus be adopted into the family of Israel, and identified in the same covenants of promise.

The despised and degraded son of the forest, who has wandered in dejection and sorrow, and suffered reproach, shall then drop his disguise, and stand forth in manly dignity, and exclaim to the Gentiles who have envied and sold him: "I am Joseph: does my father yet live?" Or, in other words: I am a descendant of that Joseph who was sold into Egypt. You have hated me, and sold me, and thought I was dead. But lo! I live, and am heir to the inheritance, titles, honors, priesthood, sceptre, crown, throne, and eternal life and dignity of my fathers who live for evermore.

He shall then be ordained, washed, anointed with holy oil and arrayed in fine linen, even in the glorious and beautiful garments and royal robes of the high priesthood, which is after the order of the Son of God; and shall enter into the congregation of the Lord, even into the Holy of Holies, there to be crowned with authority and power which shall never end.

The Spirit of the Lord shall then descend upon him, like the dew upon the mountains of Hermon, and like refreshing showers of rain upon the flowers of Paradise.

His heart shall expand with knowledge, wide as eternity; and his mind shall comprehend the vast creations of his God, and His eternal purpose of redemption, glory, and exaltation, which was devised in heaven before the worlds were organized; but made manifest in these last days, for the fulness of the Gentiles, and for the exaltation of Israel.

He shall also behold his Redeemer and be filled with his presence, while the cloud of his glory shall be seen in his temple.

The city of Zion, with its sanctuary and priesthood, and the glorious fulness of the gospel, will constitute a standard which will put an end to jarring creeds and political wranglings, by uniting the republics, states, provinces, territories, nations, tribes, kindred, tongues, people, and sects of North and South America in one great and common bond of brotherhood.

While truth and knowledge shall make them free, and love cement their union. The Lord also shall be their king and their lawgiver; while wars shall cease and peace prevail for a thousand years. 

Thus shall American rulers, statesmen, citizens, and savages know, "this once," that there is a God in Israel, who can utter his voice, and it shall be fulfilled.

Americans! This mighty and strange work has been commenced in your midst, and must roll on in fulfilment.

You are now invited, and earnestly intreated, to investigate it thoroughly, and to aid and participate in its accomplishment.

You ask, What can be done?

We answer: Protect the Saints; give them their rights; extend the broad banner of the Constitution and laws over their homes, cities, fire-sides, wives, and children; that they may CEASE to be BUTCHERED, MARTYRED, ROBBED, PLUNDERED, AND DRIVEN, and may peaceably proceed in the work assigned them by their God.

Execute the Law upon the offenders, and thus rid your garments of INNOCENT BLOOD.

Pass acts, also, to indemnify them in the millions they have lost, by your cruel and criminal neglect.

Contribute liberally of your substance for their aid, and for the fulfilment of their mission.

Let the Government of the United States also continue to gather together, and to colonize the tribes and remnants of Israel (the Indians), and also to feed, clothe, succor, and protect them, and endeavor to civilize and unite; and also to bring them to the knowledge of their Israelitish origin, and of the fulness of the gospel which was revealed to, and written by, their forefathers on this land; the record of which has now come to light.

It is these records, together with the other scriptures, and the priesthood and authority now conferred upon the Saints, that will effect their final conversion and salvation; while the creeds of man, and the powerless forms and dogmas of sectarianism will still remain powerless and inefficient.

The Lord has spoken, and who can disannul it? He has uttered his voice, and who can gainsay it? He has stretched out his arm, and who can turn it back?

Why will not the government and people of these States become acquainted with these Records? They are published among them for this purpose.

They would then begin to know and understand what was to be done with these remnants, and what part they have to act in the great restitution of Israel, and of the kingdom of God. They would also know the object of the labors, and the final destiny of the Latter-day Saints as a Church and people. And this very subject has been a source of wonder and conjecture, and sometimes even of anxiety among the people, ever since the first organization of the Saints in the year 1830.

And more than all this, they would know the destiny of this Republic, and of all other Governments, States, or Republics in America—and the purpose of God in relation to this continent, from the earliest ages of antiquity, till the present, and from this time forth till the heavens and the earth shall pass away, and be created anew. All these subjects are made plain in these ancient Records, and are rolling on in fulfilment.

If the rulers and people will now inform themselves on these momentous subjects, and fulfil the duties we have just pointed out to them, they will then be entitled to a continuation of the great national blessings and favors they have heretofore enjoyed; yea, and to more abundant favors from His bountiful hand, who first raised them to national greatness. They will in that case be prospered and enlarged, and spread their dominions wide and more wide over this vast country, till not only Texas and Oregon, but the whole vast dominion from sea to sea, will be joined with them, and come under their protection as one great, powerful and peaceful empire of Liberty and Union. Millions of people would also come from all nations, their silver and their gold with them, and would take protection under our banner, till in less than half a century from the present time we would have upwards of a hundred millions of population, all united and free, while civilisation, arts, cultivation and improvement would extend to the most wild regions of our continent, making our "wilderness like Eden and our deserts like the garden of the Lord." Or, if they will go still further, and obey the fulness of the gospel, they would then be entitled, not only to temporal blessings, but to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and thus be prepared to receive their king, Messiah, and to dwell for ever under his peaceful government in this happy country.

But, so long as they remain indifferent and ignorant on these subjects, and so long as they continue to breathe out slanders, lies, hatred and murder against the Saints and against the remnants of Israel, and to speak evil of and oppose the things which they understand not, so long the blood of the Saints and of the martyrs of Jesus must continue to flow, and souls to cry from under the altar for vengeance on a guilty land, till the great Messiah shall execute judgment for the Saints, and give them the dominion.

It is in vain to suppose that the sword, the musket, the thunder of cannon, or the grating and rattle of chains, bolts and bars, will take away the faith, hope or knowledge of a Latter-day Saint. They know some facts—and these will continue to be known facts when death and war in their most horrid forms are raging around them. They cannot shut their eyes upon these facts to please either governors, rulers, or the raging multitude.

We would now make a solemn appeal to our rulers and other fellow-citizens, whether it is treason to know? or even to publish what we know? If it is, then strike the murderous blow, but listen to what we say.

We say, then, in life or in death, in bonds or free, that the great God has spoken in this age.—And we know it.

He has given us the Holy Priesthood and Apostleship, and the keys of the kingdom of God, to bring about the restoration of all things as promised by the holy prophets of old.—And we know it.

He has revealed the origin and the Records of the aboriginal tribes of America, and their future destiny.—And we know it.

He has revealed the fulness of the gospel, with its gifts, blessings, and ordinances.—And we know it.

He has commanded us to bear witness of it, first to the Gentiles and then to the remnants of Israel and the Jews.—And we know it.

He has commanded us to gather together his Saints on this Continent, and build up holy cities and sanctuaries.—And we know it.

He has said, that the Gentiles should come into the same gospel and covenant; and be numbered with the house of Israel and be a blessed people upon this good land for ever, if they would repent and embrace it.—And we know it.

He has also said that, if they do not repent, and come to the knowledge of the truth, and cease to fight against Zion, and also put away all murder, lying, pride, priestcraft, whoredom, and secret abomination, they shall soon perish from the earth, and be cast down to hell.—And we know it.

He has said, that the time is at hand for the Jews to be gathered to Jerusalem.—And we know it.

He has said, that the Ten Tribes of Israel should also be revealed in the North country, together with their oracles and records, preparatory to their return, and to their union with Judah, no more to be separated.—And we know it.

He has said, that when these preparations were made, both in this country and in Jerusalem and the gospel in all its fulness preached to all nations for a witness and testimony, He will come, and all the Saints with him, to reign on the earth one thousand years.—And we know it.

He has said that he will not come in his glory and destroy the wicked, till these warnings were given and these preparations were made for his reception.—And we know it.

Now, fellow-citizens, if this knowledge, or the publishing of it, is treason or crime, we refuse not to die.

But be ye sure of this, that whether we live or die, the words of the testimony of this proclamation which we now send unto you, shall all be fulfilled.

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but not one jot or tittle of his revealed word shall fail to be fulfilled.

Therefore, again we say to all people, Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for remission of sins; and you shall receive the Holy Spirit, and shall know the truth, and be numbered with the house of Israel.

And we once more invite all the kings, presidents, governors, rulers, judges, and people of the earth, to aid us, the Latter-day Saints; and also, the Jews, and all the remnants of Israel, by your influence and protection, and by your silver and gold, that we may build the cities of Zion and Jerusalem, and the temples and sanctuaries of our God; and may accomplish the great restoration of all things, and bring in the latter-day glory.

That knowledge, truth, light, love, peace, union, honor, glory, and power, may fill the earth with eternal life and joy.

That death, bondage, oppression, wars, mourning, sorrow, and pain, may be done away for ever, and all tears be wiped from every eye.

In fulfilment of the work assigned them, let the Saints throughout the world, and all others who feel an interest in the work of God, forward their gifts, tithes, and offerings, for the building of the temple of the Lord, which is now in progress in the city of Nauvoo, in the State of Illinois.

Let them also come with their gold and silver, and goods, and workmen, to establish manufactories and business of all kinds, for the building up of the city; and for the employment and support of the poor, and thus strengthen the hands of those who have borne the burden and heat of the day, and who have made great sacrifices in laying the foundation of the kingdom of God, and moving on the work thus far.

We also make a solemn and an earnest request of all Editors of newspapers, both in this country and other countries to publish this proclamation. It certainly contains news, such as is not met with at all times, and in every place, and cannot fail to interest the reading public, especially those who have prayed every day of their lives for the Lords kingdom to come; and for his will to be done on the earth, as it is done in heaven.

President Wilford Woodruff, who superintends the publishing department of the Latter-day Saints, in Liverpool, England, is also requested to give this proclamation a wide circulation throughout England, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Elder Jones, our minister to Wales, is hereby instructed to publish the same in the Welsh language, and circulate it widely through that country.

It should also be translated into German, by some of our German elders, and published both in this country, and on the continent of Europe. Also in Spanish and in French.

Our Norwegian elders in the branch at Norway, Illinois, should also translate and publish it in their language, both in this country and in Norway, in Europe.

Elder Adison Pratt, our missionary to the Sandwich Islands, should also translate and publish it there.

We also rely on our friends, the Jews, throughout the world, to give it a wide circulation in all their tongues and languages.

And last, but not least, we would invite the Editor of the Cherokee Advocate, and others of the remnant of Joseph, to publish the same as extensively as possible in the Indian tongues.

We also will endeavor on our part, to publish at our office, No. 7 Spruce street, New York, one hundred thousand copies of this work, to circulate in this country, gratis. And will do our best endeavors to send them to all presidents, governors, legislators, judges, postmasters, rulers, and people, not forgetting the clergy.

All persons who wish to aid us in so doing, will please forward us contributions for that purpose, directed to our office, No. 7, Spruce street, New York.

All who wish a number of copies for distribution, will obtain them at the above-named office, at 50 cents per hundred.

**Revelation to Reuben Miller through the Apostle Brigham Young, President of the Quorum of the Twelve; received at Nauvoo, Illinois, on 30 January 1846**

I had some conversation with Reuben Miller of Ottawa, Illinois; he being considerably bewildered by James Strang's newfangled Revelation, rendered him almost devoid of Reason although apparently honest in what he was doing and said that the word of the Lord would be decidedly satisfactorily to him.

Whereupon I said: Thus saith the Lord unto Reuben Miller through Brigham Young that Strang is a wicked and corrupt man and that his revelations are as false as he is— therefore turn away from his folly and never let it be said of Reuben Miller that he ever was led away and entangled by such nonsense.

**Revelation to the Apostle Orson Hyde of the Quorum of the Twelve; received at Nauvoo, Illinois, on 14 March 1846**

In my meditations, this morning, the Spirit of the Lord came upon me, and I was moved to write, and being grieved in my spirit on account of false pretenses by evil designing persons to gain power, and lead away the flock of God, It whispered me and said:

Evil men, ambitious of power, must needs arise among you, and they shall be led by their own self-will and not by me. Yet they are instruments in my hands, and are permitted to try my people, and to collect from among them those who are not the elect, and such as are unworthy of eternal life. Grieve not after them, neither mourn nor be alarmed. My people know my voice and also the voice of my spirit, and a stranger they will not follow, therefore such as follow strangers are not my people. Behold James J. Strang hath cursed my people by his own spirit and not by mine. Never at any time have I appointed that wicked man to lead my people, neither by my own voice, nor by the voice of my servant Joseph Smith, neither by the voice of mine angel: but he hath sought to deceive and Satan helpeth him; but before of old was he one that was ordained to gather the tares of the field, and mine angels have chosen him to do it because he was a wicked man, even as Judas was chosen to betray his Lord. But his spirit and ambition shall soon fail him, and then shall he be called to judgment and receive that portion which is his mete, and his treacherous followers, who have forsaken the counsel of their brethren and turned from the covenants of their God, and have cast asunder the tenderest ties, must drink from a bitter cup.

Let no man who putteth his trust in me be troubled about his rights. The worthy shall have their rights and no power can prevent it, for I will give them the hearts of my people, and their voice is my voice, even as my voice is the voice of my father; and what they bind on earth I will bind in heaven. But the unworthy have no rights except these, repentance or condemnation. If they act upon the former, behold they are justified, but if not, they must suffer the consequences of the latter.

By this you may know the unworthy among my people: for whomsoever they reject, the same are rejected of me. And woe to such as shall follow him who hath been rejected by my people. If my people sin I will correct and chasten them because I love them, yet I will not reject them, neither give my kingdom to other people, for behold the end draweth nigh, and judgement will I pour out upon your oppressors and upon those who accuse you to hide their own iniquity and their shame, and to get power for unholy purposes and not for the building up of my kingdom. Let such beware lest they fall by the hand of the destroyer, whose arrows are plague and pestilence, before their designs are accomplished.

Let my saints gather up with all consistent speed and remove westward, except such as are counselled to tarry and must needs remain to settle their business according to the counsel of my servant JOSEPH SMITH, in the day that he was with you in the flesh, and also to the counsel of my servants, the Twelve whom I have chosen, and who have abode in me.

Let there be no more disputes or contentions among you about doctrine or principle, neither who shall be greatest, but hearken to those things which I have spoken unto you, and which have before been given and you shall rest in my kingdom, and have glory and honour for ever and ever--Yea! Saith the Spirit, and the Spirit is truth, and the truth abideth for ever: Amen.

**A revelation given by the Spirit of the Lord to the Apostle Orson Hyde of the Quorum of the Twelve; received on 15 March, 1846.**

I have made my church as upon a hill. The Priesthood holds the power and all have been ordained or ought to be. It is necessary that all be ordained.

It is necessary that it should rest upon all, not upon men only but upon women also that ye may be All One.

Fear not little flock, it is the Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. It is given to you and power to overcome all things.

**Revelation to the Apostle Brigham Young, President of the Quorum of the Twelve; received at Mount Pisgah of the Camp of Israel, Middle Fork of the Grand River, Iowa Territory about two miles west of present Thayer, Iowa on 26 May 1846**

I told Daniel and Orson Spencer that the Spirit said to me: Tell Daniel to gather up what teams, tools, seeds, and men he can and go on and let Orson stay and take care of the families and bring them on.

**Revelation to Apostle Brigham Young, President of the Quorum of the Twelve between present Scottsbluff and Henry, Nebraska; on 28 May 1847**

I, Brigham, am constrained by the Spirit to say to you, my brethren, in this Camp of Pioneers, who have gone; or who have come out of bondage to find a location for a Stake of Zion, Except you repent, and humble yourselves before the Lord, you shall not have power to accomplish your mission; And all your toils and labors will prove a curse instead of a blessing unto you. In vain do you think that your works will be accepted of the Lord, whilst your hearts are far from him.

The voice of the Spirit of the Lord, is unto the elders of Israel, prepare ye for the coming of the Son of Man in the Clouds of heaven; yea in a pillar of fire, to take vengeance on the ungodly; Yea, this is my commandment unto you mine Elders, saith the Lord Almighty, that you speedily repent, lest judgments overtake you, and you be numbered with the foolish virgins.

Let this suffice; take heed to your ways, and keep your former covenants; And I the Lord will deliver you from all your enemies, saith him who is your Advocate with the Father; even so, Amen.

**Revelation recorded by the Apostle Wilford Woodruff on October 6th 1851**

The Lord said you must gain your Bread by the sweat of the Brow. You must make your own  leather or you cannot get money enough to buy it with. So with tea, Coffee and sugar. You must raise and make it or go without it. You must make your own Iron or fail for Iron must be had.  Leather and Iron must be made and make your own clothing.

**Revelation to Branch President Jason Briggs on 18 November, 1851**

While pondering in my heart the situation of the church, on the 18th day of November, 1851, on the prairie, about three miles northwest of Beloit, Wisconsin, the Spirit of the Lord came upon me, and the visions of truth opened to my mind, and the Spirit of the Lord said unto me,

"Verily, verily, saith the Lord, even Jesus Christ, unto his servant, Jason W. Briggs, concerning the church: Behold, I have not cast off my people; neither have I changed in regard to Zion. Yea, verily, my people shall be redeemed, and my law shall be kept which I revealed unto my servant, Joseph Smith, Jr., for I am God and not man, and who is he that shall turn me from my purpose, or destroy whom I would preserve? Wolves have entered into the flock, and who shall deliver them? Where is he that giveth his life for the flock? Behold, I will judge those who call themselves shepherds, and have preyed upon the flock of my pastures.

And because you have asked me in faith concerning William Smith, this is the answer of the Lord thy God concerning him: I, the Lord, have permitted him to represent the rightful heir to the presidency of the high priesthood of my church by reason of the faith and prayers of his father, and his brothers, Joseph and Hyrum Smith, which came up before me in his behalf; and to respect the law of lineage, by which the holy priesthood is transmitted, in all generations, when organized into quorums. And the keys which were taught him by my servant Joseph were of me, that I might prove him therewith. And for this reason have I poured out my Spirit through his ministrations, according to the integrity of those who received them.

But as Esau despised his birthright, so has William Smith despised my law, and forfeited that which pertained to him as an apostle and high priest in my church. And his spokesman, Joseph Wood, shall fall with him, for they are rejected of me. They shall be degraded in their lives, and shall die without regard; for they have wholly forsaken my law, and given themselves to all manner of uncleanness, and prostituted my law and the keys of power entrusted to them, to the lusts of the flesh, and have run greedily in the way of adultery.

Therefore, let the elders whom I have ordained by the hand of my servant Joseph, or by the hand of those ordained by him, resist not this authority, nor faint in the discharge of duty, which is to preach my gospel as revealed in the record of the Jews, and the Book of Mormon, and the Book of Doctrine and Covenants; and cry repentance and remission of sins through obedience to the gospel, and I will sustain them, and give them my Spirit; and in mine own due time will I call upon the seed of Joseph Smith, and will bring one forth, and he shall be mighty and strong, and he shall preside over the high priesthood of my church; and then shall the quorums assemble, and the pure in heart shall gather, and Zion shall be reinhabited, as I said unto my servant Joseph Smith; after many days shall all these things be accomplished, saith the Spirit. Behold, that which ye received as my celestial law is not of me, but is the doctrine of Baalam. And I command you to denounce it and proclaim against it; and I will give you power, that none shall be able to withstand your words, if you rely upon me; for my Spirit shall attend you." And the Spirit said unto me, "Write, write, write; write the revelation and send it unto the saints at Palestine, and at Voree, and at Waukesha, and to all places where this doctrine is taught as my law; and whomsoever will humble themselves before me, and ask of me, shall receive of my Spirit a testimony that these words are of me. Even so. Amen.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball, unknown Date**

The Lord said to H. C. Kimball: The division would take place between the North and South within Six years and much Blood would be spilt on the occasion and you shall live to see it.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Brigham Young on 22 February 1852**

We are here as Latter-day Saints; we cannot mingle with the world; if we do, we cease to be Saints.  I say it just as the Lord has revealed it to me.  The day the Latter-day Saints will say to the people in the world, we love you, we will intermarry with you, we will give our daughters unto you for wives, and be one with you; that day the curse comes upon this people as in days of old.  You may see it in those who become partners of life; they are not joined by the Lord, neither is it sanctioned by the angel of the Lord.  And on that day it may be said, goodbye to the road that leads to the Celestial gate, and when you get to where you suppose it was, you will find it is not there.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Orson Pratt on July 25, 1852**

You shall cease to do evil; for if you cease to do evil, you shall be redeemed from Adam's transgression, and brought back into my presence; and if you cease not to do evil, you shall be punished with everlasting destruction from my presence, and from the glory of my power, saith the Lord.

**Revelation given to the Prophet Brigham Young on August 15 1852**

The Lord says, I have sent the keys of Elijah the Prophet—I have imparted that doctrine to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts children to the fathers. Now, all you children, are you looking to the salvation of your fathers? Are you seeking diligently to redeem them that have died without the Gospel, inasmuch as they sought the Lord Almighty to obtain promises for you?—for our fathers did obtain promises that their seed should not be forgotten. O ye children of the fathers, look at these things. You are to enter into the Temples of the Lord and officiate for your forefathers.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Parley Pratt on January 13, 1853**

“Well, then,” says the Lord, “I will set up a standard for my people, and lift up my hand to the Gentiles. A system shall be developed from heaven, by which the people are to be planted in one, that is, those who embrace it; by which shall be developed among them all, one spirit, one doctrine, one order of Priesthood, worship, power, and government, to lead, direct, control, and say what religion they shall adopt, including every department of government, sufficient for all the affairs of state, both internal and external, and that would contribute to their enlightenment, improvement, defense, exaltation, and their relations with all the world.”

**Revelation given to the Apostle Orson Hyde, October 8th, 1854**

“Now,” says the Almighty, “I want to try you and prove you, and see if you will act in small things that you may render yourselves worthy of being blessed with the means which I will prepare, and which I have ordained. I want to see if you are worthy.”

**Revelation given through the Prophet Brigham Young, December 3 1854**

“I put into you intelligence,” saith the Lord, “that you may know how to govern and control yourselves, and make yourselves comfortable and happy on the earth; and give unto you certain privileges to act upon as independently in your sphere as I do in the government of heaven.”

**Revelation given through the Prophet Brigham Young, July 8th 1855**

He says to the nations, “I send unto you my servants, I raise up unto you a Prophet, and call upon you, O inhabitants of the earth, through him, to repent of your sins.”

**Revelation given to the Prophet Brigham Young on August 31, 1856**

The same Spirit pervades the Latter-day Saints in all the world, and what the Lord designs doing here is made manifest to the brethren in different parts, and the world feels the power of it and begins to persecute. When we commence that temple you will hear the devils howl.

We are now doing but little besides taking care of ourselves, but the kingdom has got to be taken and the Lord Jesus come to reign here. When you wonder why it is that we are building many large buildings here and the temple not going on, be silent and patient.

Here let me ask the old Saints a question. Have you ever seen a temple finished, since this Church commenced? You have not. The Lord says, “Be patient and gather together the strength of my house;” then do not fret yourselves, and if you feel a little worried, be sure that you are right, and do as you are counseled.

**God's word to the Women of humanity from premortality revealed through the Apostle John Taylor on August 29th, 1857**

Go daughter to yonder lower world, and take upon thee a tabernacle, and work out thy probation with fear and trembling, and rise to exaltation. 

But daughter, remember you go on this condition, that is, you are to forget all things you ever saw, or knew to be transacted in the spirit world; you are not to know or remember anything concerning the same that you have beheld transpire here; but you must go and become one of the most helpless of all beings that I have created, while in your infancy; subject to sickness, pain, tears, mourning, sorrow and death. 

But when truth shall touch the cords of your heart they shall vibrate;  then intelligence shall illuminate your mind, and shed its lustre in your soul, and you shall begin to understand the things you once knew, but which had gone from you; you shall then begin to understand and know the object of your creation. 

Daughter, go, and be faithful in your second estate, keep it as faithful as thou hast thy first estate.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Orson Hyde, November 15 1857**

But “overcome it must be,” say the enemy; and “we will not rest until we have resorted to the last extremity. We will try the force of arms!”

“Very well, if that is your mode of warfare,” says the Almighty, “I do not desire it; but I will show you that I am not only a man of reason, Scripture, and truth, but a man of war too. If force of arms is your plan and mode of attack, you will find me ready to meet you in that and in every method you may adopt.”

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball on November 22, 1857**

"With you, mine Elders, my servants, I will rend the kingdoms of this world, and with you I will provide for my Saints in the last days."

That may be a new idea to many of you. Is he going to take the world and by them provide for his Saints? No; but he will take his Elders. The righteous have got to provide for the righteous in the latter days, as Joseph in Egypt provided for his father's house and those that believed on him, like a good father providing for a good family, for good wives, and good children.

When I have provided for my wives and children, that is my business, is it not, although I dictate them to do the work? I bring this up as a comparison. Says the Lord,

“That is my business. When you have done all things according to my word, you need not further trouble yourselves.”

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball on February 23, 1859**

The word of the Lord to me that the Army will leave this year or most of them.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball on March 6th 1859**

In the Evening the Lord told me there would be much Sickness the coming summer and cause the people to mourn. Which was so.

**Revelation given through the Apostle Orson Hyde, March 25, 1860**

Now, says the Almighty, I have given unto you power to save all mankind that believe and repent.

**Revelations given to the Apostle Heber Kimball, January 4th, 7th, and 10th 1862**

It was revealed to me that the United States would make war with this people the Saints with in three years from this time.

In the Evening of the 7th of January, the Lord told me the United States would make war on this people soon to test the people to see if they would stand by Him.

In the Evening of 10 January the Lord Said my prayers were heard and I should be blessed before the Saints in a powerful manner.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball on April 27, 1862**

The Lord says, do my will and let the world alone, and I will defend you, for it is my business to defend you and all my people in these latter days.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball in March 1862**

This night the Lord told me the time was near I Heber should be lifted up on high in favor of Israel and my Servant Daniel Wells should see Sorrow even as my Servant Heber had to his full because he, Daniel, had pressed my Servant Heber and held him at a distance instead of doing him good as he might, when he had the power in his hands.

These words are true and shall come to pass in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

It was told me the time was near when I Heber should be lifted up in the Eyes of Israel and Daniel H. Wells should see sorrow Even as he had caused sorrow to come on his servent HCK becaus he sat on me and oppressed me when he had power to do me good. Even so Amen. HCK.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball on March 10 1862**

The Lord told me the time was near when I Heber would be esteemed by His Servant Brigham more than any man that lives in the flesh.

**Revelation given to the Prophet Brigham Young on April 6, 1862**

“I will purge the land,” saith the Lord, “cut off the evildoer, and prepare a way for the return of my people to their inheritance.”

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball on June 19th, 1862**

The tabernacles of men become corrupted by these wicked acts which they perform while under the control of the evil spirits which dictate them, and that tabernacle that is defiled I will destroy, saith the Lord God.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Brigham Young on May 24th 1863**

I will prove you and try you, saith the Lord, by placing you in the most abject circumstances you can be placed in; I will surround you with your enemies, expose you to their derisive laugh, to the finger of scorn and to the hatred of the wicked, then will I see whether you will acknowledge me and bear your cross manfully.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball in December 27 1864**

I was told by the Lord that those that had sought my hurt and had caused me to be cast off by His Servant Brigham should see sorrow and be removed out of their place. Daniel H. Wells, Albert Carrington, Joseph A. Young and others and they should be spoiled in all their Evil designs.

**Revelation given to the Prophet Brigham Young on August 16th 1866**

Go along, my children, saith the Lord, do all you can, and remember that your blessings come through your faith. Be faithful and cut the corners of your enemies where you can—get the advantage of them by faith and good works, take care of yourselves, and they will destroy themselves. Be what you should be, live as you should, and all will be well.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Heber Kimball in 1867, in the endowments house in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory**

While making this prophecy, Brother Kimball's face shown with a bright light and he spoke like one having authority:

I want to tell you something, this Church has been moving along slowly and will be for a number of years.

The President has been taken from the apostles and will be for a number of years, then God will raise up a man to be the President of this Church; he will neither be of the lineage of Joseph nor of Brigham, nor of the apostles, and will not be taken from the quorum of the apostles: he is in your midst and you don't know him.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Joseph F. Smith on January 10th 1869**

Why the Lord says, I will take one of a city and two of a family, and bring them to Zion, and I will give them pastors after my own heart who shall feed them with knowledge and understanding. They have been fed heretofore with the theories and dogmas of men, but I will pour out my spirit upon my people and instruct them in the principles of righteousness, that I may have a people who will listen to me and will pursue the course I shall dictate.

**Revelation given through the Prophet Brigham Young on 7 October 1870**

It is the mind and will of God that the Elders of Israel should take the Utah Central Railroad Bonds and own the road and pay for it so that he could pay the debt of the Union Pacific which he owes to the brethren.

It is the will of God that C. C. Rich and Lorenzo Snow should call for 50 men to strengthen the settlements in Bear Lake Valley.

It is the will of God that Erastus Snow should call upon the people to strengthen the southern settlements. 

**Revelation given to the Apostle Wilford Woodruff on January 1st, 1871**

The Lord says, “I will break every weapon formed against Zion; and every nation, kindred, tongue and people that will not serve Zion shall be utterly wasted away.”

**Revelation given through the Prophet Brigham Young on 1 June 1873**

I have asked the Lord what kind of a temple we should build and the answer of the Lord was that He did not make two things alike, and we need not make two temples alike, so we need not look for two temples alike.

**The word of the Lord that was revealed to his People, by his servant; the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, President Brigham Young; February 1874.**

Thus saith the Lord it is my will that this people should enter into A Holy united order, by concentrating their labour, there time, and their means together for the interest of my Kingdom, and for their own mutual benefit, And I the Lord will bless them abundantly, they shall get along with less labour, and less means, And become a great deal richer, and happier, and be enabled to do a great deal more good, And if not the curse of the Lord will be upon them.

For we are got as far as we can get in our present position, for the time is fully come that we should enter into this Holy Order, the Lord is saying come, and Holy angles are saying come, and all good men are saying come, and I say come let us enter into this Holy Order, that the Kingdom of Heaven may continue to advance, till it fill the whole earth with the knowledge and love of God, Hear this oh Israel, I tell you the Kingdom of God cannot advance one step further until we enter into this Holy Order.

**Revelation to the Prophet Brigham Young dictated in August of 1874**

With regard to those who wish to have new revelation they will please to accommodate themselves and call this a new revelation. On this occasion I will not repeat any– thing particular in respect to the language of revelation, further than to say—

Thus saith the Lord unto my servant Brigham, Call ye, call ye, upon the inhabitants of Zion, to organize themselves in the Order of Enoch, in the New and Everlasting Covenant, according to the Order of Heaven, for the furtherance of my kingdom upon the earth, for the perfecting of the Saints, for the salvation of the living and the dead.

You can accommodate yourselves by calling this a new revelation, if you choose; it is no new revelation, but it is the express word and will of God to this people.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Wilford Woodruff on October 9, 1874**

Saith the Lord Jesus, “I have set in the Church, first, Apostles, second Prophets, third Teachers, pastors, gifts, helps, and governments.”

**Revelation given by the Apostle John Taylor on July 30, 1876**

“I will take them one of a city and two of a family and bring them to Zion,” says the Lord, and give them pastors after my own heart, that will feed them with knowledge and understanding, not with false philosophy, but with knowledge emanating from God; men who will manifest the will of God and carry out his designs, teaching the people his law.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Wilford Woodruff on March 1 1877**

Ever Since I have been working in this Temple my mind has been Exercised in behalf of the dead, And I have felt a great desire to see my dead redeemed before I passed away. A few days ago I went into the sealing room where I often go to Pray for I Consider there is no spot on this Earth more acceptable than this Temple and while there I went before the Lord with this subject resting upon my mind and I Pray the Lord to open My way to see my Dead Redeemed. And while
I prayed the spirit of the Lord rested upon me and Conveyed the following Testimony to me:

Let my servant Wilford Call upon the virgins Maidens, Daughters, and Mothers in Zion and let them Enter into my Holy Temple on the first day of March the day that my servant Wilford has seen the time allotted to man, Three score years and Ten, and there let them received their washing and Anointing and Endowments for and behalf of the wives who are dead and have been sealed to my servant Wilford, or those who are to be Sealed to him, and this shall be acceptable
unto me Saith the Lord, and the dead of my servant shall be redeemed in the spirit world and be  prepared to meet my servant at the time of his Coming which shall be at the time appointed unto him, though not revealed to man in the flesh. Now go to and perform this work and all shall be accomplished according to the desire of your heart.

This was merely a key to me. Light burst upon my understanding. I saw an Effectual door open to me for the redemption of my dead. And when I saw this I felt like shouting Glory Hallalulah to God and the Lamb.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Orson Pratt on May 20th 1877**

But first, says the Lord, I will try my people; I will perfect them; I will see whether they will be obedient to my commandments; I will reveal to them little by little; I will give them line upon line; I will impart a little light upon this subject and upon the other subject: and if my people shall inquire of me, in relation to these things, then I will teach them still more, giving them another line and another precept, I will issue forth another commandment; but if they do not inquire of me, and their hearts be found full of covetousness, and they feel in their hearts to slight these things which I have given to them, then I will withhold the greater information; I will not let them know the law which I gave to the ancient Nephites; I will withhold many things calculated to benefit them, until they learn the things that they are already taught.

But when they become obedient students, obedient men and women of God, obedient to my commandments, hearkening to the voice of my servants, giving heed to the whisperings of my spirit, doing away with covetousness, then I will reveal more; I will introduce more and more of the principles of the United Order, necessary to govern the people, and to prepare them for the great day of the Lord, which is to come.

**Revelation to the Apostle John Taylor, President of the Quorum of the Twelve, on 19 November 1877 in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory.**

I have been asking the Lord to show me how to adjust the property of the Church, held in the name of the late President Brigham Young, so as to do justice to his estate and yet not wrong the Church, and have received the following answer:

You have asked of me, and others of the Twelve have asked of me, that wisdom might be given you to adjust these property matters of the Church; Thus saith the Lord: Be one, be united, be honest, act upon the principles of justice and righteousness to the living and to the dead and to my Church, and I, the Lord, will sustain you and will acknowledge your labors. Amen.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Joseph F. Smith on July 7th 1878**

I understand the law of celestial marriage to mean that every man in this Church, who has the ability to obey and practice it in righteousness and will not, shall be damned, I say I understand it to mean this and nothing less, and I testify in the name of Jesus that it does mean that.

But what will become of him that cannot abide it? Says the Lord, “whoso having knowledge have I not commanded to repent, and he that hath not understanding, it remaineth with me to do according as it is written.”

**Revelation given to the Apostle Erastus Snow on April 6, 1879**

 “This is the condemnation,” says the Savior, “that light is come into the world, and men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil.” 

...When the Lord says to his people, here is a beautiful earth I have formed for you, and there are the elements within your reach—the grasses, the streams of water which flow pure as the breezes of heaven, free to all; here are the animals, I place them under your control; and here are the trees bearing fruit, and the grain and vegetables containing seed in themselves; go forth now and occupy the land, cultivate, improve, embellish, ornament and gratify your eye, your taste, and satisfy your wants, eat, drink, and be merry, plow the ground, cast in the seed, and I will send you the rains to water the earth, and make it fruitful to reward your toil; and this covenant I make with you, that so long as you see my bow in the heavens, seed time and harvest shall never fail you.

“But,” says the sloth, “I will not do it, I wish to go and lay me down under the shade of the trees in the hope that some kind soul will bring me a little water to quench my thirst, and then bring me some fruit, and put it into my mouth, and then wag my jaws, or I lay me down and die.”

Our Father says: “Then die like a fool; the penalty is your own, and the eternal mandate of heaven shall not be revoked to indulge your idleness.”

**Revelation as written by the Apostle Wilford Woodruff in 1879**

You do know Joseph Smith, the Prophet, left his testimony upon the earth and sealed that testimony with his blood, and that testament is in force upon the world, and that testament is filled with the revelations of God, that stand upon its pages like flames of living fire, ready to be fulfilled upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

In this testament the Lord has Commanded his servants to go to all the world and Preach this gospel of the Kingdom to Every Creature as far as doors Can be opened.

For with you saith the Lord Almighty I will rend their Kingdoms. I will shake not only the Earth but the starry Heavens shall tremble. You Cannot see it now but soon you shall see it and know that I am God.

**A Revelation given to the Apostle Wilford Woodruff in the Wilderness of San Francisco Mountain in Arizona On the 26 day of Jan 1880:**

Thus saith the Lord unto my servant Wilford Woodruff. I have heard thy Prayers, And will answer thy Petitions. I will make Known unto thee my will Concerning the Nation who encumber the land of promise, And also Concerning Zion and her inhabitants.

I have already revealed my will Concerning the Nation through the mouth of my Servant Joseph, who sealed his Testimony with his own Blood, which Testimony has been in force upon all the world from the hour of his death. What I the Lord have revealed in that Testament and decreed upon this Nation, and all the Nations of the Earth shall be fulfilled, Saith the Lord of Hosts.

I the Lord have spoken and will be obeyed. My Purposes shall be fulfilled upon this Nation, and No power shall stay my hand. The hour is at the door when my wrath and indignation shall be poured out upon the wicked of this Nation. Their murders, blasphemies, Lyings, whoredoms and abominations have Come up before my face and before the heavens and the wrath of mine indignation is full. I have decreed Plagues to go forth and lay waste mine Enemies and not many years hence they shall not be left to pollute mine heritage. The Devil is ruling over his Kingdom and my spirit has no Place in the h[e]arts of the Rulers of this Nation, and the Devil stirs them up to defy my Power, and to make war upon my Saints. Therefore let mine Apostles and mine Elders who are faithful obey my Commandments which are already written for your profit and guidance.

Thus saith the Lord unto my servant John Taylor and my servant Wilford Woodruff and my servant Orson Pratt and to all the residue of mine Apostles. Have you not gone forth in my name without Purse or scrip and declared the Gospel of Life and Salvation unto this Nation and the Nations of the Earth and warned them of the judgments which are to Come as you have been moved upon by the power of the Holy Ghost and the inspiration of the Lord? You have done this year by year for a whole Generation as Men Count time. Therefore your garments are Clean of the Blood of this generation and Especially of this Nation.

Therefore as I have Said in a former Commandment so I the Lord say again unto mine Apostles go ye alone by yourselves whether in heat or in Cold and Cleanse your feet with water pure water. It matters not whether it be by the running stream or in your Closets but bear their testimonies before the Lord and the Heavenly Hosts.

And when you have all done this Then gather yourselves together in your Holy places and Clothe yourselves in the Robes of the Holy Priesthood and there offer up your Prayers according to my Holy Law. Let him who Presides be mouth and kneel upon the Holy Altar and there let mine Apostles bring all their testimonies before my face and before the Heavenly Hosts and before the justified spirits made perfect.

And thus saith the Lord unto you mine Apostles when you bring these testimonies before me let them be presented by Name as far as the spirit shall present them unto you, The Presidents of the United States, The Supreme Court, The Cabinet, The Senate and House of Congress of the United States, The Governors of the States and Territories, The Judges and Officers sent unto you and all men and persons who have taken part in persecuting you or Bringing distress upon you or your families or have sought your lives or sought to hinder you from keeping my Commandments or from Enjoying the rights which the Constitutional Laws of the Land guarantee unto you.

And what I the Lord say unto you mine Apostles I say unto my servants the Seventies, The High Priests The Elders and The Priests And all my Servants who are pure in h[e]art and who have born testimony unto this Nation. Let them go forth and Cleanse their feet in pure water and bear testimony of it unto your Father who is in heaven.

And thus saith the Lord unto mine Apostles and mine Elders when ye do these things with Purity of heart, I the Lord will hear your Prayers and am bound by oath and Covenant to defend you and fight your battles as I have said in a former Commandment it is not my will that mine Elders should fight the Battles of Zion for I will fight your Battles. Nevertheless Let no Man be afraid to lay down his life for my sake for He that layeth down his life for my sake shall find it again and have Eternal life.

The Nation is ripened in iniquity and the Cup of the wrath of mine indignation is full, and I will not Stay my hand in Judgment upon this Nation or the Nations of the Earth. I have Decreed wars and Judgments upon the wicked and my wrath and indignation are about to be poured out upon them. And the wicked and rebellious shall know that I am God. As I the Lord have spoken so will I the Lord fullfill. I will spare none who remain in babylon but I will burn them up Saith the Lord of Hosts. As I the Lord have suffered so will I put all Enemies under my feet, for I the Lord utter my word, and it shall be obeyed and the day of wrath and indignation shall Come upon the wicked.

And I say again wo unto that Nation or House or people, who seek to hinder my People from obeying the Patriarchal Law of Abraham which leadeth to a Celestial Glory which has been revealed unto my Saints through the mouth of my servant Joseph for whosoever doeth these things shall be damned Saith the Lord of Hosts and shall be broken up and washed away from under Heaven by the Judgments which I have sent forth and shall not return unto me void.

And thus with the sword and By Blood shed and with famine and Plagues and Earthquakes and the Thunders of Heavens and the vivid lightnings shall this Nation and the Nations of the Earth be made to feel the Chastening hand of an Almighty God until they are broken up and Destroyed, and wasted away from under heaven, and No power Can Stay my hand. Therefore let the wicked tremble. Let them that blaspheme my name hold their lips, for destruction will swiftly over take them.

All that I the Lord have Spoken through the Mouth of my Prophets and Apostles since the world began concerning the Last dispensation and fulness of times, Concerning my Church which has been Called out of the wilderness of darkness and Error, and Concerning the Zion and Kingdom of God and Concerning Babylon the Great, And what I have spoken through the Mouth of My servant Joseph [Smith] shall all be fulfilled. And though Heaven and Earth Pass away my words shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled Saith the Lord.

These revelations and testimonies you have before you. Let my Saints search the word of the Lord and treasure up wisdom and be prepared for that which is to Come. As I have decreed so shall my Judgments begin at the House of God. There are those in my Church who have a name among you who are Adulterers and Adulteresses and those who blaspheme my name and those who love and make a lie, and those who revel and Drink with the Drunken. If they do not speedily repent of their wickedness and Abominations They shall be severed from the ordinances of my house Saith the Lord.

There are many who have need to repent whose hearts are set upon the things of this world, who aspire to the honors of men, and do not honor the Priesthood, nor seek to build up the Kingdom of God as they Should. Neither do they learn or Comprehend that the rights of the Priesthood are inseparably Connected with the Powers of heavens and that the powers of heaven Cannot be Controlled nor handled only upon the principles of Righteousness. Such should repent and turn unto the Lord and seek for the Holy Spirit to guide them. Judgments will begin at my House, and from thence will they go forth unto the wicked, and the wicked Cannot Escape. Blessed are the pure in heart, for my Blessings await them in this life and Eternal Life in the world to Come.

Thus Saith the Lord unto you my servants the Apostles who dwell in the flesh fear ye not your Enemies. Let not your hearts be troubled. I am in your midst. I am your Advocate with the Father. I have given mine Angels Charge Concerning you. Mine Eyes are upon you. And the Eyes of your Heavenly Father and the Heavenly Hosts, and all Justified Spirits made perfect are a watching over you. Your works are manifest before the face of my servants who have sealed their Testimony with their Blood and before all of my servants of the Twelve Apostles whom I have taken unto myself. The veil is taken from off their faces and they Know your works. They await your Coming when you have finished your testimony in the flesh. Therefore be ye faithful unti I Come. My Coming is at the Door.

Call upon the Lord in mighty Prayer. Ask and you shall receive whatever you agree as touching any thing and ask the Father in my name it shall be given unto you. Seek diligently to build Up Zion and magnify your high Calling and your Enemies shall not prevail over you. Zion shall not be moved out of her Place. Zion shall prevail against her Enemies. My People shall not be hindered in the building of my Temples unto my Holy Name if they will hearken to my voice and do as I Command them.

The blood of my servants Joseph and Hyrum and of mine Apostles and Elders which have been shed for the word of God and Testimony of Jesus Christ Cries from the ground for vengeance upon the Nation who have shed their blood but the Blood shall speedily be avenged and shall cease to Cry unto me for the hour of God's Judgment is fully Come and shall be poured out without measure upon the wicked.

But Hearken and hear O ye Apostles Elders and people of my Church to the word of the Lord Concerning you that for all the Blessings that I will pour out upon you and the Inhabitants of Zion, and the Judgments and destructions upon the wicked that I will be inquired of by you to ask the Father in my name to do and to perform these things for you, As I told all the House of Israel by my servant Moses that they should ask at my hand for all those blessings which I the Lord had promised Unto Israel in the Latter Days, And as I the Lord Ordained mine Apostles who were with me in my ministry, and Promised them that they should sit upon Twelve Thrones Judging the Twelve Tribes of Israel So I say unto you mine Apostles whom I have raised up in these last days that I have ordained you to bear Record of my name and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles first and then to the House of Israel. I have also Ordained you to sit upon Thrones and Judge the Gentiles and all of the inhabitants of the Earth unto whom you have borne Testimony of my name in the day and Generation in which you live.

Therefore how great is your Calling and Responsibility before me. Therefore gird up the Loins of your minds and Magnify your Callings in the fear of God and prepare ye for the Coming of the Son of Man which is nigh at the Door. No man knoweth the day nor the hour but the Signs of Both Heaven and Earth indicate his Coming as promised by the Mouth of my disciples. The fig trees are leaving and the hour is nigh. Therefore prepare yourselves O ye Saints of the Most High God with Oil in your Lamps, for Blessed is he that watcheth for the Coming of the Son of man Again hear ye the word of the Lord O ye mine Apostles whom I have Chosen in these last Days to bear record of my Name and to Lead my People Israel until the Coming of the Son of Man.

I the Lord have raised up unto you my Servant John Taylor to preside over you and to be a Law Giver unto my Church. He has mingled his Blood with that of the Martyred Prophets. Nevertheless while I have taken my Servants Joseph and Hyrum Smith unto myself I have preserved My Servant John Taylor for a wise purpose in me. I have also taken many others of the Apostles unto Myself for I take whom I will take and preserve in life them whom I will preserve according to the Counsel of my own will.

And while my servant John Taylor is your President I wish to ask the rest of my servants of the Apostles the Question Although you have one to Preside over your Quorum and over the Church which is the order of God in all Generations, Do you not all of you hold the Apostleship which is the Highest Authority ever given to man on Earth? You do. Therefore you hold in Common the keys of the Kingdom of God in all the world. You each of you have power to unlock the veil of Eternity and hold Conversation with God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ, and to have the Administration of Angels. It is your right, privilege and duty to inquire of the Lord his mind and will Concerning yourselves the inhabitants of Zion and their interest.

And whenever any one of you receive the word of the Lord Let it be written and Presented in your Councils and whatever by a united Consent you deem wisdom to be presented unto the people let it be presented by the President my servant John Taylor as the word of the Lord. In this way you will uphold him and Strengthen his hands as all the burden should not rest upon one man. For thus Saith the Lord All of mine Apostles should be full of the Holy Ghost of Inspiration and Revelation and know the mind and will of God and be prepared for that which is to Come. Therefore let mine Apostles keep my Commandments and obey my laws And the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against you. Fear not for lo I am with you until I Come. I Come quickly Even so Amen.

**Revelation given to the Apostle Wilford Woodruff on August 1, 1880**

"And,” said the Lord, “when you do speak as you are moved upon by the Holy Ghost, your words are the words of God, they are scripture, and they are the mind of the Lord to the people.”

**Revelation to the Prophet John Taylor at Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, on 25-26 June 1882**

Question: Is the law of Celestial Marriage a law given to this nation or to the world?

Answer: No. In no other sense than as the Gospel is given, and in accordance with the laws thereof. So far as it is made known unto men, it is made known unto them as the Gospel is made known unto them and is a part of the New and Everlasting Covenant, and it is only those who receive the Gospel that are able to, or capable of, entering into this covenant. Have I not said through my servant Joseph that "all kingdoms are governed by law," and if they receive not the law of my Gospel they cannot participate in the blessings of Celestial Marriage which pertains to mine elect.

No person, or people, or nation can enter into the principle of Celestial Marriage unless they come in by me, saith the Lord, and obey the law of my Gospel through the medium of him who is appointed unto this power as made known unto my people through my servant Joseph in a Revelation on "The Eternity of the Marriage Covenant."

I have therein stated that "all those who have this law revealed unto them must obey the same; for behold! I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory."
Furthermore, "And as pertaining to the new and everlasting covenant, it was instituted for the fullness of my glory; and he that receiveth a fullness thereof, must and shall abide the law, or he shall be damned, saith the Lord God."

It is again written that "all kingdoms have a law given."  The Celestial Kingdom including the promise of eternal life pertains to "the Church of the First Born, even of God the Holiest of all, through Jesus Christ his Son". Therefore such must be sanctified from all unrighteousness that they may be prepared for the Celestial Glory, "for he that is not able to abide The Law of a Celestial Kingdom, cannot abide a Celestial Glory; and he who cannot abide the law of a Terrestrial Kingdom cannot abide a Terrestrial Glory; and he who cannot abide the law of a Telestial Kingdom cannot abide a Telestial Glory: therefore he is not meet for a Kingdom of glory. Therefore he must abide a Kingdom which is not a Kingdom of Glory."  Each of the persons inhabiting these several Kingdoms shall be quickened by the same power that pertains to the Kingdom that they are destined to inherit, whether Celestial, Terrestrial or Telestial; and shall receive of their respective glories.

And again it is written, "And again, verily I say unto you, that which is governed by law is also preserved by law, and perfected and sanctified by the same. ". That which breaketh a law, and abideth not by law, but seeketh to become a law unto itself, and willeth to abide in sin, and altogether abideth in sin, cannot be sanctified by law, neither by mercy, justice, nor judgment."

It is further written, speaking of Celestial Marriage, "And verily I say unto you, that the conditions of this law are these: - All covenants, contracts, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections, associations, or expectations, that are not made, and entered into, and sealed, by the Holy Spirit of promise, of him who is anointed, both as well for time and for all eternity, and that too most holy, by revelation and commandment through the medium of mine anointed, whom I have appointed on the earth to hold this power, (and I have appointed unto my servant, Joseph to hold this power in the last days, and there is never but one on the earth at a time, on whom this power and the Keys of this Priesthood are conferred,) are of no efficacy, virtue, or force, in and after the resurrection from the dead; for all contracts that are not made unto this end, have an end when men are dead."  This law is a Celestial law and pertains to a Celestial Kingdom. It is a new and everlasting covenant and appertains to thrones, principalities, powers, dominions, and eternal increase in the Celestial Kingdom of God.

You are not now sent to proclaim this principle to the United States, nor to the World, nor to urge it upon them. It is not for them as a nation or nations, only as many as accept the law of my Gospel and are governed thereby. Behold, if you were to preach this principle unto them and they said, We accept it, Could you then administer it unto them? Verily, I say unto you Nay. Have I not said, Behold! mine house is a house of order, saith the Lord God, and not a house of confusion. Will I accept of an offering, saith the Lord, that is not made in my name! Or, will I receive at your hands that which I have not appointed? And will I appoint unto you, saith the Lord, except it be by law, even as I and my Father ordained unto you, before the world was! "I am the Lord thy God, and I give unto you this commandment, that no man shall come unto the Father but by me, or by my word, which is my law saith the Lord; and everything that is in the world, whether it be ordained of men, by thrones, or principalities, or powers, or things of name, whatsoever they may be, that are not by me, saith the Lord, shall be thrown down, and shall not remain after men are dead, neither in nor after the resurrection, saith the Lord your God; for whatsoever things remain, are by me; and whatsoever things are not by me shall be shaken and destroyed.

"Therefore, if a man marry him a wife in the world, and he marry her not by me, nor by my word, and he covenant with her so long as he is in the world and she with him, their covenant and marriage are not of force when they are dead, and when they are out of the world; therefore, they are not bound by any law when they are out of the world."  You ask, what shall we do? Thus saith the Lord God, Obey my law, and seek not to become a law unto yourselves, nor trust to outside influences; but seek in the way appointed to the Lord your God. Ye are my spokesmen, I am your God; and as I have before said, I now again say, Henceforeth do as I shall command you.

Concerning the course taken by the United States they have the liberty a right to reject this law themselves, as they have the liberty a right to reject the Gospel; but it is contrary to the provisions of the Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, for them to prohibit you from obeying it. Therefore abide in my law which I have revealed unto you, saith the Lord God, and contend for your rights by every legal and constitutional method and in accordance with the institutions, laws, and Constitution of the United States. Be humble, be faithful, be diligent, seek unto me and it shall be made known unto you from time to time what my will is pertaining to this matter. I am the Lord your God, hearken to me, and obey my law, and your enemies shall be confounded, and my Kingdom shall be victorious. Even so, Amen.

**Revelation to the Prophet John Taylor at Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, on 27 June 1882**

Verily thus saith the Lord, I have instituted my Kingdom and my Laws, with the Keys and power thereof, and have appointed you as my spokesman and my Constitution, with President John Taylor at your head, whom I have appointed to my Church and my Kingdom as Prophet, Seer and Revelator unto my Church and unto my Kingdom, and to preside over my Church and over my Kingdom, and to be my mouthpiece unto my Church and unto my Kingdom, and I will honor him and he shall speak forth the words that I will reveal unto him from time to time by the whisperings of my Spirit, by the revelation of my will and my word or by mine own voice, as I will, saith the Lord, and ye shall listen to his words, as my words, saith the Lord your God.

Thus Saith the Lord God who rules in the heavens above and in the earth beneath, I have introduced My Kingdom and my Government, even the Kingdom of God, that my servants have heretofore prophesied of and that I taught my disciples to pray for, saying "Thy Kingdom Come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven," for the establishment of my rule, for the introduction of my law, for the protection of my Church, and for the maintenance, promulgation and protection of Civil and religious liberty in this nation and throughout the world; and all men of every nation, color and Creed shall yet be protected and shielded thereby; and every nation and kindred, and people, and tongue shall yet bow the knee to me, and acknowledge me to be Ahman Christ to the glory of God the Father.

And my law, and my rule, and my dominion shall be extend over the whole earth, and no one shall stay my hand, or question my authority; for I rule by right in the heavens above, and in the earth; and my right, and my rule, and my dominion shall yet be known and extended to all people. And now, behold, I speak unto you through my I Servant John, whom you have acknowledged and shall acknowledge as my spokesman.

Thus saith the Lord God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the Rulers of the Universe, whose right it is to rule in the heavens above, and in the earth beneath, behold, I raised up my servant Joseph Smith to introduce my Gospel, and to build up my Church, and establish my Kingdom on the earth; and I gave unto him Wisdom, and Knowledge and revelation, and intelligence pertaining to the past, the present, and the future, even to that extent which was not known among men; and I endowed him with power from on high, and Conferred upon him the Priesthood of Aaron, and also the Priesthood of Melchizedek, which is after the order of the Son of God, even the holiest of all, and after the power of an endless life, and administereth forever in the world and the World to Come.

He was called and ordained to this office before the World was. He was called by me; and empowered by me and sustained by me to introduce and establish my Church and Kingdom upon the earth; and to be a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator to my Church and Kingdom; and to be a King and Ruler over Israel. He was slain for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God; but he yet lives, and is with me where I am.

And now I speak unto you who are members of this Council and my Kingdom, and I say unto you, as I said unto my disciples of old, Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen You.

I called you by my servant Joseph, and by my servant Brigham, and by my Servant John. You did not teach and instruct me, but I have taught and instructed you, and organized you according to my eternal laws. Ye are my Constitution, and I am your God; And I will be acknowledged and my will and my word and my law shall bear rule in my Kingdom, saith the Lord. If it does not, then it is not my Kingdom, and then are ye not my spokesmen; for it is not by the wisdom of man, by the intelligence of man; and under the direction of man, then it is a Kingdom of man, and it is not of me, and I will not acknowledge it saith the Lord God.

Have I not instructed you in all that you know and is not this Kingdom organized and directed by revelation from me? Is it, not called the Kingdom of God? If, therefore, it is not my Kingdom, why do you make use of my name, and invoke my authority and my aid? Is this Kingdom not called, "The Kingdom of God, and His laws, with the Keys and power thereof, and judgment in the hands of his servants, Ahman Christ."

And because I am kind and beneficent to all people, and because I have given to man his free agency, and have always maintained that free Agency among all people, and have treated all men alike among all nations, and made the sun to shine on the evil and the good, on the just and the unjust, and have never controlled the Consciences of men, think ye, therefore, that I have no rights, and will yield up all my authority to the dictates and caprices of wicked and corrupt men? Verily, I say unto you, nay.

Behold, Satan sought to take away the free agency of man in the beginning, for which cause he was thrust out of heaven, and has sought to introduce the same principles upon the earth, which principles are opposed to me, to my institutions and my laws, and to the freedom, the welfare and happiness of man and by which principles the Government of the United States sought to deprive my people of their free agency; and because men have been under the influence and power and dominion of Lucifer, and because tyranny and oppression and evil have abounded by him, and not by me, saith the Lord your God, shall righteousness and justice, and judgement, and truth and virtue, and holiness be forever trampled under foot? And the principles of tyranny, oppression and misrule, and anarchy - deception and fraud for ever prevail? Verily I say unto you Nay; and for this Cause have I introduced my Church and my Kingdom, that pure and righteous principles might be inculcated and in man by his free agency yield a willing obedience to my law; for after this testimony and the rejection thereof, I will sweep the earth of evil doers as with the besom of destruction for this is my right, and while man has his free agency, judgment belongs to me, saith the Lord.

And I will come out of my hiding place and vex the nations of the earth because of their iniquities, their misrule, their tyranny, their oppression, their Corruption, their murders, their adulteries and fornications, and all their abominations; and because my Servant Joseph, whose soul was pained because of their cruelties and oppressions, the injustice, fraud and Corruption, and the inhumanity of men, proclaimed himself the advocate of human rights, the advocate of liberty, and the friend of man; and because, according to my eternal decrees, the free agency of man should be guaranteed to all men, I moved upon him to introduce into my Kingdom Certain parties not in my Church, for the purpose of exhibiting unto my Kingdom that I would still maintain the free agency of man, and that I hold inviolate that principle, and will is still maintain it to the end, think ye, therefore, that because they are thus admitted to a share in my government and my laws that they shall be permitted to break their covenants, violate their obligations, and reject me and my laws and authority, and seek to overthrow the Kingdom of God, and deprive my people who are contending for freedom, and who shall yet maintain it, of their agency, and of my laws? Verily, I say unto you nay, They may be admitted to the rights of representation in the manner appointed, after subscribing to my Covenants and Commandments, and have full and free opportunity of presenting their views, interests and principles, and enjoying all the freedom and rights of this Council; but they shall acknowledge me and my laws in this Council, saith the Lord God; for my people's rights and immunities and free agency shall be acknowledged as well as those of all other people, and my laws and government shall be sustained, or I will not acknowledge you saith the Lord.

I have invested you with the Keys and favor of my Kingdom and they cannot be bartered away to others. Shall all men be free? Yes, free to do right, free to express their sentiments and opinions and have a full, fair and free representation; but no man shall violate his covenants, pervert my laws, subvert others' free agency, and trample upon mine authority in this Council, Saith the Lord your God.

Again I say unto you as I said before, Henceforth do as I shall Command you, saith the Lord Your God. Even so, Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet John Taylor at Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, at the end of June or Very early in July, 1882.**

Am I not King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Do I not rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath, as I will saith the Lord? And though men do not acknowledge me yet do I control them; and I will Control them according to my will and purpose, and I will make use of the Kings of the earth, And the rulers and powers of the earth to accomplish my purposes, saith the Lord God your Redeemer, and none shall stay my hand.

And I will build up my Kingdom as I have heretofore decreed and made Known through the mouth of mine holy Prophets, do so far as they have declared my purposes pertaining thereto; and I have many other things to make known and to proclaim relative to my Church And to my Kingdom and to the building up of my Zion on the earth. Behold, you are my Kingdom, and rulers in my Kingdom and then you are also, many of you, rulers in my Church according to your ordinations therein.

For are you not of the First Presidency, and of the Twelve Apostles, and some Presidents of Stakes, and some Bishops, and some High Priests and some Seventies and Elders therein? And are ye not all of my Church and belong to my holy Priesthood? And then, are ye not all of my Kingdom, and do you not belong to my Kingdom, and are ye not the representatives thereof, even my Constitution? And am I not your God, even your Redeemer and your king?

Behold, I have told you so to do as I command you, and have I not a right to dictate in the affairs of my Kingdom, and is it not incumbent upon you to obey me as your Lord, your lawgiver and your King? Behold thus saith the Lord, I will be obeyed by my Council, and if they do not acknowledge me, I will not acknowledge them, saith the Lord of hosts, the God and King of the whole earth.

Speaking of my Church, Behold I established my Church that I might reveal unto them my word, and my will and the law of the Gospel, and the order of the Holy Priesthood, and I set in order my Priesthood, even the Aaronic and Melchizedek, and I have sent forth mine Elders to the world to preach this Gospel of the Kingdom to all people, and to gather mine elect from among all nations, that a people might be prepared through my Gospel, through the manifestation of my Spirit, even the Spirit of Truth, the Gift of the Holy Ghost, the Comforter, and through the teachings of my holy Priesthood and the revelations of my Will to Comprehend the law of my Gospel, to be one with each other, and to be one with me as I am one with the Father, to Comprehend and obey the principles of righteousness, virtue, holiness, purity, and the love and fear of God, and to assist in building my Zion unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and to prepare for the salvation and redemption of the world, even the living and the dead.

And again, it required this Gospel, this Priesthood, this revelation, this unity, this Spirit, to introduce the Kingdom of God, the law of God, the authority and dominion of God, that the will of God might be done on earth as it is done in heaven.

I rule now among the nations but not by their Consent, and the rulers of the earth do not know me or my law, nor recognize my authority. They have their free agency and use it so have also my people, and they use their agency through my Gospel to serve me, to obey my law and to build up my Church and Kingdom.

For outside of my Church there is no people on the earth who will listen to my law, and if there was no people who would listen to my law, how could I have a Kingdom, and how could I be their ruler? I have established my Kingdom to be a shield and protection to my Church, to learn and Comprehend my law, and to carry out my purposes, that my will may be done on earth as it is done in heaven: the Church through the law and Spirit of the Gospel to preserve the virtue and purity of the Kingdom; and the Kingdom to preserve and protect the Church from the aggressions of the wicked and ungodly.

And behold, I do not want my own will, but the will of my Father; the same is my Father and my God, and your Father and your God, and we are one, I in him, and you in me.

Are I and my Father with the Church? Yes. Are we not also with the Kingdom? Yes. Am I not your God, your Ahman Christ? You so acknowledge me. My Father is King of Kings and Lord of lords. I rule as my Father directs me, And if ye rule and direct according to my will, under the direction of my servant who is your president and head, are we not one, and is it not the rule and government of God?

And any Kingdom, or government, or dominion that is not under my direction, and does not acknowledge me, I will not acknowledge, saith the Lord of hosts; and if they fight against me and my laws, and my Church, and my Kingdom, they shall be overthrown in mine own due time, for I have so decreed. Even so, Amen.

**Revelation given through the Prophet John Taylor, at Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, October 13, 1882.**

Thus saith the Lord to the Twelve, and to the Priesthood and people of my Church: Let my servants George Teasdale and Heber J. Grant be appointed to fill the vacancies in the Twelve, that you may be fully organized and prepared for the labors devolving upon you, for you have a great work to perform; and then proceed to fill up the presiding quorum of the Seventies, and assist in organizing that body of my Priesthood who are your co-laborers in the ministry. You may appoint Seymour B. Young to fill up the vacancy in the presiding quorum of the Seventies, if he will conform to my law: for it is not meet that men who will not abide my law shall preside over my Priesthood; and then proceed forthwith and call to your aid any assistance that you may require from among the Seventies to assist you in your labors in introducing and maintaining the Gospel among the Lamanites through-out the land.

And then let High Priests be selected, under the direction of the First Presidency, to preside over the various organizations that shall exist, among this people; that those who receive the Gospel may be taught in the doctrines of my Church, and in the ordinances and laws thereof, and also in the things pertaining to my Zion and my Kingdom, saith the Lord, that they may be one with you in my Church and my Kingdom.

Let the Presidency of my Church be one in all things; and let the Twelve also be one in all things; and let them all be one with me as I am one with the Father.

And let the High Priests organize themselves, and purify themselves, and prepare themselves for this labor, and for all other labors that they may be called upon to fulfill.

And let the Presidents of Stakes also purify themselves, and the priesthood and people of the Stakes over which they preside, and organize the Priesthood in their various Stakes according to my law, in all the various departments thereof, in the High Councils, in the Elders' Quorums, and in the Bishops' and their Councils; and in the Quorums of Priests, Teachers and Deacons, that every quorum may be fully organized according to the order of my Church; and, then let them inquire into the standing and fellowship of all that hold my holy Priesthood in their several Stakes; and if they find those that are unworthy, let them remove them, except they repent, for my Priesthood whom I have called and whom I have Sustained and honored, shall honor me and obey my laws, and the laws of my holy Priesthood, or they shall not be considered worthy to hold my Priesthood, saith the Lord.

And let my Priesthood humble themselves before me, and seek not their own will but my will; For if my Priesthood whom I have chosen and called and endowed with the Spirit and gifts of their several callings and with the powers thereof, do not acknowledge me I will not acknowledge them, saith the Lord; for I will be honored and obeyed by my Priesthood.

And, then, I call upon my Priesthood, and upon all my people to repent of all their sins and short comings, of their covetousness and pride and selfwill, and of all their iniquities wherein they sin against me; and to seek with all humility to fulfill my law, as my Priesthood, my Saints and my people.

And I call upon the heads of families to put their houses in order according to the law of God, and attend to the various duties and responsibilities associated therewith, and to purify themselves before me, and to purge out iniquity from their households.

And I will bless and be with you, saith the Lord; and ye shall gather together in your holy places wherein ye assemble to call upon me, and ye shall ask for such things as are right, and I will hear your prayers, and my Spirit and power shall be with you and my blessing shall rest upon you, upon your families, your dwellings and your households, upon your flocks and herds and fields, your orchards and vineyards, and upon all that pertains to you; and you shall be my people and I will be your God; and your enemies shall not have dominion over you, for I will preserve you and confound them, saith the Lord, and they shall not have power and dominion over you; for my word shall go forth and my work shall be accomplished, and my Zion shall be established, and my rule and my power, and my dominion shall prevail among my people, and all nations shall yet acknowledge me. Even so, Amen.

**A Revelation given through the Prophet John Taylor, on Saturday, April 14th, 1883**

In answer to the question: Show unto us Thy will o Lord, concerning the organization of the Seventies.

What ye have written is my will and is acceptable unto me; and furthermore, Thus saith the Lord unto the First Presidency, unto the Twelve, unto the Seventies, and unto all my holy Priesthood, let not your hearts he troubled, neither be ye concerned about the management and organization of my Church and Priesthood and the accomplishment of my work.

Fear me and observe my laws, and I will reveal unto you, from time to time, through the channels that I have appointed, everything that shall be necessary for the future development and perfection of my Church, for the adjustment and rolling forth of my Kingdom, and for the building up and establishment of my Zion. For ye are my Priesthood, and I am your God Even so, Amen.

**A Revelation given to the Prophet John Taylor, at Salt Lake City, 28th April 1883**

You have asked me why your mind was confused and dull within the last two days.

Verily thus saith the Lord, by the whisperings of his Spirit and the Still small Voice that the arrangement which you have contemplated with my Servant, Thomas, is not acceptable, to me. He should have listened to your offer which would have been profitable to himself and acceptable to me. When you rejected his offer you did right, and my Spirit was with you; but when you, in your zeal to show that you had faith in me and in my word, accepted propositions and assumed responsibilities which were not in accordance with the order that I showed you, you did wrong, and I withdrew my Spirit.

For it is forbidden my Presidency to go into debt unless I, the Lord, command it, for these things lead to confusion and bondage. Besides have I not shown unto you, my Servant John, a way to raise a fund which should be at Your disposal for the accomplishment of my purposes, and by which the rights and properties of my people should be preserved in all of these matters? You must abide by this principle.

My servant, Thomas, does not understand fully this matter. Confer with him on this subject, and if he can see these things and follow council he shall assist you in the developments contemplated. For you, nor my Servant George Q. Cannon cannot attend to these details; but if he, Thomas, cannot enter freely into this matter without restraint then shall you arrange with him according to wisdom, and withdraw from the contemplated arrangement.

Behold, I have shown unto you many things, and I will Continue to make Known unto you my will, from time to time, on things temporal as well as spiritual, things pertaining to my Church, my Kingdom and my Zion, and you shall be my mouthpiece, saith the Lord, And I will greatly bless you and lift you up, and exalt you, saith the Lord, for your words and works are acceptable unto me, and, I know of your Zeal and integrity in my cause, and you shall be made a blessing to my people and your name shall be honored in Israel, and in this nation and among the nations of the earth; for they that honor me I will honor.

And I will also greatly bless my servant George Q. Cannon, who is acceptable before me, and who is exceedingly desirous to do my will. And I will also bless my servant Joseph F. Smith whose heart and spirit is right before me, and who is also desirous to fulfill my law, and these your Counselors shall be greatly blessed with you; and you shall be my mouthpiece unto them, and I will also show unto them my will from time to time.

And you shall be one in Spiritual things, and also in temporal things in due time, and I will show unto my people and unto the world, that this world is mine, and that I created it by my power, and the gold and silver, and copper, and brass, and iron and riches and precious things thereof, and all that pertains thereunto are mine; and my people shall know that they are mine, and that they live in me, and move and exist by me, and have their being from me, and that all which they possess is mine, and is obtained of me, and that they are and can only be, stewards over that which I have given unto them to possess, and which they could not have only of me and by me, whether it relates to this earth and the fullness thereof, to wives, children, and friends, to gold, silver, houses, lands, riches, and possessions pertaining thereto, or to thrones, principalities, powers, dominions and exaltations in my eternal Kingdom.

And my presidency shall be one, and the Twelve shall be one, and the Presidencies of Stakes and the High Councils shall be one and all of my holy Priesthood in their several quorums, standings, offices, and positions, shall be one and all of my Priesthood shall be united as one, and they shall be one with my people, and my people shall be one with them, and they shall be my Church, my Kingdom and my Zion, and I will be one with them and be their God.

Let every person, therefore, be diligent and act in their several positions, callings or Priesthood, and honor and magnify the same, and honor and obey me, the Lord their God, and respect and obey the Counsels of my holy Priesthood, and I will honor and exalt them, saith the Lord, in Time and throughout Eternity.

And as it regards my servant John Taylor, it is not necessary for him to attend to the minutia or details of either spiritual or temporal things, but only to give general directions, or as I may make manifest from time to time. And his Councilors are to be his assistants, And the First Presidency shall call upon the Twelve, the Presidents of Stakes, the Bishops, and others to assist in these duties, and I will raise up wise and prudent men, from time to time, to assist in Temporal as well as Spiritual things, for they are all one with me.

And, then let the Twelve call upon the Seventies; and let the High Priests, the High Councils, and Elders, and Bishops and the lesser Priesthood, and all who labor for Zion be diligent and obedient, and let every man put in his sickle and reap, and fulfill and magnify his calling, office or Priesthood.

These things belong to my Priesthood but more properly to the School of the Prophets. Let the School of the Prophets be organized, even all such as are worthy, but if they are found unworthy they shall not have a place in my school, for I will be honored by My Priesthood, and let my laws be made known unto them as may be deemed expedient.

**A Revelation given through the Prophet John Taylor, Logan, May 1884.**

As thou hast asked me concerning this Temple, thus saith the Lord: I accept this house which thou hast built, and also the labors of the Committee, the Superintendent, and the Architect thereof, and of those who have in anywise Contributed to the building or beautifying the same, by their labor or by their means; and inasmuch as it shall be preserved pure and not be defiled my presence shall be there even the power of my Spirit, - the Gift of the Holy Ghost; which shall in this house hereafter be more fully understood; and I will acknowledge the ordinances which shall be administered therein, both for the living and the dead; and my blessing shall attend the administration of the ordinances, and shall rest upon those who administer therein, inasmuch as they comply with the order and institutions of my house, and act with purity and singleness of heart before me, according to my word, my ordinances and my laws; and this house shall be a house of prayer, a house of learning, a house of God, wherein many great principles pertaining to the past, to the present and the future shall be revealed and my word and my will be made known, and the laws of the Universe, pertaining to this world and other worlds be developed; for in these houses which have been built unto me, and which shall be built I will reveal the abundance of those things pertaining to the past, the present, and the future, to the life that now is, and the life that is to come, pertaining to laws, order, rule, dominion and government, to things affecting this nation and other nations; - the laws of the heavenly bodies in their times and seasons, and the principles or laws by which they are governed, and their relation to each other, and whether they be bodies celestial, terrestrial or telestial, shall be made known as I will, saith the Lord; for it is my will and my purpose to place my people in closer communion with the heavens, inasmuch as they will purify themselves and observe more diligently my law; for it is in mine heart to greatly bless and exalt my people, and to build up, exalt and beautify my Zion, inasmuch as they shall observe my law, Even so, Amen.

**A Revelation given through the Prophet John Taylor, Salt Lake City, 25th Dec., 1884.**

There are some things that ought to he put right. Some time ago there was word given for the brethren and their families to put themselves in order before the Lord; and it is necessary that these things should be carried out, for there has been a negligence in some of these matters; and if my people and Priesthood desire my blessing and guidance, and protection they must and shall be subject to my law.

And it is necessary that the various quorums of the Priesthood should place themselves right before me, saith the Lord; And that as individuals they should place themselves in that position, for if they do not they have no claim upon my blessing or my protection.

A day of trouble, and anxiety and sorrow, and judgment will soon overtake this nation and other nations; it is nigh at hand, and the inhabitants of Zion must purge themselves from iniquity, folly, confusion, confusion, and vanity, and listen to and obey my laws, or they cannot have my protection, For I, the Lord, will not be mocked, but the wrongdoer shall receive the just recompense of reward; and the sinners in Zion shall be afraid; and carefulness shall also take hold of the wicked and ungodly, that are in your midst.

And if you, my people, obey my law and keep my Commandments, to do them, not in name only, but in reality, I will be your shield and protector, and your strong tower and no man shall be able to hurt you, for I will be your defense.

Therefore, humble yourselves before me, and purify yourselves, that your acts and doings may be acceptable before me. For if you do not you will share in the Condemnation of the wicked. Wherefore, listen to the Counsels of those whom I have appointed, and seek not your own will and way, But the will of the Lord your God; for by him only can you be sustained in time of trouble which is fast approaching, Even so, Amen.

**Revelation to the Prophet John Taylor at Centerville, Utah Territory, on 27 September 1886**

My son John. You have asked me concerning the new  and everlasting covenant and how far it is binding upon my people.

Thus saith the Lord all commandments that I give must be obeyed by those calling themselves by my name unless they are revoked by me or by my authority and how can I revoke an everlasting covenant?

For I the Lord am everlasting and my everlasting covenants cannot be abrogated nor done away with; but they stand for ever.

Have I not given my word in great plainness on this subject? Yet have not great numbers of my people been negligent in the observance of my law and the keeping of my commandment and yet have I borne with them these many years and this because of their weakness because of the perilous times and furthermore it is more pleasing to me that men should use their free agency in regard to these matters. Nevertheless I the Lord do not change and my word and my covenants and my law do not.

And as I have heretofore said by my servant Joseph all those who would enter into my glory must and shall obey my law and have I not commanded men that if they were Abraham's seed and would enter into my glory they must do the works of Abraham?

I have not revoked this law nor will I for it is everlasting and those who will enter into my glory must obey the conditions thereof, even so amen.

**Revelation to the Prophet Wilford Woodruff at Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, on Sunday 24 November 1889**

I Attended A meeting with the Lawyers at the Gardo House in the Evening. They wanted me to Make some Concession to the Court upon Polygamy and other Points and I spent Several Hours alone and Enquired of the Lord and received the following:

Thus Saith the Lord, to my Servant Wilford, I the Lord have heard thy prayers and thy request, and will answer thee by the voice of my spirit. Thus Saith the Lord, unto my Servants the Presidency of my church, who hold the Keys of the Kingdom of God on this earth. I the Lord hold the destiny of the courts in your midst, and the destiny of this nation, and all other nations of the earth in mine own hands, and all that I have revealed, and promised and decreed concerning the generation in which you live, shall come to pass, and no power shall stay my hand.

Let not my servants who are called to the Presidency of my church, deny my word or my law, which concerns the salvation of the children of men. Let them pray for the Holy Spirit, which shall be given them to guide them in their acts. Place not yourselves in jeopardy to your enemies by promise. Your enemies seek your destruction and the destruction of my people. If the Saints will hearken unto my voice, and the counsel of my Servants, the wicked shall not prevail.

Let my servants, who officiate as your counselors before the courts, make their pleadings as they are moved upon by the Holy spirit, without any further pledges from the Priesthood. I the Lord will hold the courts, with the officers of government, and the nation responsible for their acts towards the inhabitants of Zion.

I, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, am in your midst. I am your advocate with the Father. Fear not little flock, it is your father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Fear not the wicked and ungodly. Search the Scriptures, for they are they which testify of me, also those revelations which I have given to my servant Joseph, and to all my servants since the world began, which are recorded in the records of divine truths. Those revelations contain the judgments of God which are to be poured out upon all nations under the heavens which include great Babylon.

These judgments are at the door. They will be fulfilled as God lives. Leave judgment with me, it is mine saith the Lord. Watch the signs of the times, and they will show the fulfillment of the words of the Lord.

Let my servants call upon the Lord in mighty prayer, retain the Holy Ghost as your constant companion, and act as you are moved upon by that spirit, and all will be well with you. The wicked are fast ripening in iniquity, and they will be cut off by the judgments of God. Great events await you and this generation, and are nigh at your doors. Awake, O, Israel, and have faith in God, and His promises, and he will not forsake you. I the Lord will deliver my Saints from the dominion of the wicked, in mine own due time and way. I cannot deny my word, neither in blessing nor judgments.

Therefore let mine Anointed gird up their loins, watch and be sober, and keep my commandments. Pray always and faint not, exercise faith in the Lord and in the promises of God; be valiant in the testimony of Jesus Christ. The eyes of the Lord and the Heavenly Hosts are watching over you and your acts. Therefore be faithful until I come. I come quickly to reward every man according to the deeds done in the body. Even so, amen.

**Revelations given to the Prophet Wilford Woodruff in 1890**

I wish to make the following remarks upon the principal of Revelation. Some had thought that
Revelation had ceased, But this is not the Case. The Lord is with us and gives us Revelation. But I
will say for myself that I wish to Avoid saying Thus Saith the Lord as far as I Can when I give
the will of the Lord to the people. In the Days of Joseph Smith it was Thus saith the Lord almost
Daily until the Revelations now embodied in the Book of Doctrine and Covenants had Been
given. Since that day President Brigham Young John Taylor and myself have seldom used the
words (Thus saith the Lord) when giving the word of the Lord to the people.

It matters not who lives or who dies, or who is called to lead this Church, they have got to lead it by the inspiration of Almighty God. If they do not do it that way, they cannot do it at all.

I have had some revelations of late, and very important ones to me, and I will tell you what the Lord has said to me. Let me bring your minds to what is termed the manifesto. The Lord has told me by revelation that there are many members of the church throughout Zion who are sorely tried in their hearts because of that manifesto.

The Lord has told me to ask the Latter-day Saints a question, and he also told me that if they would listen to what I said to them and answer the question put to them by the Spirit and power of God, they would all answer alike, and they would all believe alike with regard to this matter.

          The question is this: Which is the wisest course for the Latter-day Saints to pursue – to continue to attempt to practice plural marriage, with the laws of the nation against it and the opposition of sixty millions of people, and at the cost of the confiscation and loss of all the temples, and the stopping of all the ordinances therein, both for the living and the dead, and the imprisonment of the First Presidency and Twelve and the heads of families in the Church, and the confiscation of personal property of the people (all of which of themselves would stop the practice); or, after doing and suffering what we have through our adherence to this principle to cease the practice and submit to the law, and through doing so leave the prophets, apostles and fathers at home, so that they can instruct the people and attend to the duties of the Church, and also leave the temples in the hands of the Saints, so that they can attend to the ordinances of the gospel, both for the living and the dead?

          The Lord showed me by vision and revelation exactly what would take place if we did not stop this practice; all ordinances would be stopped throughout the land of Zion. Confusion would reign throughout Israel, and many men would be made prisoners.

I know there are a good many men, and probably some leading men, in this Church who have been tried and felt as though President Woodruff had lost the Spirit of God and was about to apostatize. Now, I want you to understand that he has not lost the Spirit, nor is he about to apostatize. The Lord is with him, and with this people. He has told me exactly what to do, and what the result would be if we did not do it.

I saw exactly what would come to pass if there was not something done. I have had this spirit upon me for a long time. But I want to say this: I should have let all the temples go out of our hands; I should have gone to prison myself, and let every other man go there, had not the God of heaven commanded me to do what I did do; and when the hour came that I was commanded to do that, it was all clear to me. I went before the Lord, and I wrote what the Lord told me to write.

          The Lord is at work with us. He is doing things here that you do not comprehend.

He, God, has told me exactly what to do. The God of heaven commanded me to do what I did do. I wrote what the Lord told me to write.

Almighty God commanded me to do what I did. The Son of God felt disposed to have the Manifesto presented to the Church.

What I said to the people of our Church I said by inspiration, as I view it – by the mind and will of the Lord. I intended to give them to understand that we should stop the practice of plural marriage— the manifesto was just as authoritative and binding as though it had been given in the form of ‘Thus saith the Lord."

"Now I will tell you what was manifested to me and what the Son of God performed in this thing. … All these things would have come to pass, as God Almighty lives, had not that Manifesto been given. Therefore, the Son of God felt disposed to have that thing presented to the Church and to the world for purposes in his own mind. The Lord had decreed the establishment of Zion. He had decreed the finishing of this temple. He had decreed that the salvation of the living and the dead should be given in these valleys of the mountains. And Almighty God decreed that the Devil should not thwart it. If you can understand that, that is a key to it.

...In the 68th Section of the Book of D&C we are informed that when men speak as they are moved
upon by the Holy Ghost it is the word of the Lord and Revelation. I have Received a Revelation
and a Commandment from the Lord which I have not revealed to any man which I shall reveal to
this assembly and the Command of the Lord I shall give to this people which is this.

The Lord  has revealed to me that there are many in the Church who feel badly tried about the Manifesto
and also about the Testimony of the Presidency and Apostles before the Master in Chancery.

The Lord has Commanded me to put the following question to the Saints and those who will give
Attention to it shall have the Holy Ghost to be with them to inspire them to Answer that question
for themselves and the Lord has promised that the Answer will be to all alike.

The question is  this. Which is the wisest course for the latter Day Saints to pursue, to Continue to attempt to practice plural Marriage with the Laws of the Nation against it and the opposition of 60,000,000
of People and at the Cost of Confiscation and loss of all the Temples and the stopping of all the ordinances therein both for the living and the Dead And the imprisonment of the First Presidency and Twelve and the leaders or heads of family in the Church And the Confiscation of the  personal property of the People, All of which of themselves would stop the Practice?

**Revelation to the Prophet Wilford Woodruff, told at General Conference; 8 April 1894**

When I went before the Lord to know who I should be adopted to (we were then being adopted to prophets and apostles), the Spirit of God said to me, “Have you not a father, who begot you?”  “Yes, I have.”  “Then why not honor him?  Why not be adopted to him?”  “Yes,” says I, “that is right.”  I was adopted to my father, and should have had my father sealed to his father, and so on back; and the duty that I want every man who presides over a temple to see performed from this day henceforth and forever, unless the Lord Almighty commands otherwise, is, let every man be adopted to his father. When a man receives the endowments, adopt him to his father; not to Wilford Woodruff, nor to any other man outside the lineage of his fathers. That is the will of God to this people. I want all men who preside over these temples in these mountains of Israel to bear this in mind. What business have I to take away the rights of the lineage of any man? What right has any man to do this? No; I say let every man be adopted to his father, and then you will do exactly what God said when he declared he would send Elijah the prophet in the last days.

**Revelation received by the Prophet Lorenzo Snow  on 8 May, 1899**

The Lord required me to say something to you, and since I have commenced to labor in his interest, I have never failed.

The word of the Lord to you is: The time has now come for every Latter-day Saint, who calculates to be prepared for the future and to hold his feet strong upon a proper foundation, to do the will of the Lord and to pay his tithing in full. That is the word of the Lord to you, and it will be the word of the Lord to every settlement throughout the land of Zion. After I leave you and you get to thinking about this, you will see yourselves that the time has come when every man should stand up and pay his tithing in full. The Lord has blessed us and has had mercy upon us in the past; but there are times coming when the Lord requires us to stand up and do that which He has commanded and not leave it any longer. What I say to you in this stake of Zion I will say to every stake of Zion that has been organized. There is no man or woman that now hears what I am saying who will feel satisfied if he or she fails to pay a full tithing.

**Revelation received by the Prophet Joseph F. Smith on November 1, 1918**

Thus saith the Lord, I am well pleased with the records which are kept of the receipts and disbursements of the tithing and fast and freewill offerings and properties of my church. And I say unto you, that the time is now in accord with my word given to my servant Joseph Smith, Jr., in 1838, when the tithing and other funds and the properties of my church shall be disposed of and appropriated for the work of the ministry, and the building up and beautifying and the lengthening and strengthening of the stakes of Zion.

The presidency of my church, the council of the Twelve—and not at any time less than a majority—shall be a quorum and the presiding bishopric of my church shall be a council for this purpose. And they shall be agreed in their decisions, and shall hearken unto my voice in all things.

And the duties of the presiding bishopric, shall be in accordance with the promptings of my Spirit, and subject to the presidency of the church.

**Revelation referred to be the Apostle Ezra Taft Benson in 1980**

The Lord wants us to be independent and self-reliant because these will be days of tribulation. He has warned and forewarned us of the eventuality. The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah.

**Revelatory Instruction explained by the Prophet Russell Nelson on September 17, 2019**

Consider the policy announced in November 2015 related to the advisability of baptism for the children of LGBT parents. Our concern then, and one we discussed at length and prayed about fervently over a long period of time, was to find a way to reduce friction between gay or lesbian parents and their children.

Because parents are the primary exemplars for their children, we did not want to put young children in the position of having to choose between beliefs and behavior they learned at home and what they were taught at church. We wanted to facilitate harmony in the home and avoid pitting children and parents against each other. Thus in 2015 the policy was made to assist children and their parents in this circumstance; namely, that children being raised by LGBT parents would not automatically be eligible for baptism at age eight. Exceptions to this policy would require First Presidency approval.

The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve have continued to seek the Lord’s guidance and to plead with Him in behalf of His children who were affected by the 2015 policy. We knew that this policy created concern and confusion for some and heartache for others. That grieved us. Whenever the sons and daughters of God weep—for whatever reasons—we weep. So our supplications to the Lord continued.

We also took note of LGBT parents who sought permission from the First Presidency for their children to be baptized. In nearly every case in which the LGBT parents agreed to teach their children about—and be supportive of—the covenant of baptism, the requested exception was granted.

As a result of our continued supplication, we recently felt directed to adjust the policy such that the baptism of children of LGBT parents may be authorized by bishops without First Presidency approval, if the custodial parents request the baptism and understand that a child will be taught about sacred covenants to be made at baptism.

We also determined that LGBT parents may request that a baby be named and blessed by one who worthily holds the Melchizedek Priesthood. It is important that these parents understand that ward members will contact them periodically and that when a child who has been blessed reaches eight years of age, local leaders will recommend that the child be baptized.

Now, COVID-19 vaccines that many have worked, prayed, and fasted for are being developed, and some are being provided…As appropriate opportunities become available, the Church urges its members, employees and missionaries to be good global citizens and help quell the pandemic by safeguarding themselves and others through immunization.

Individuals are responsible to make their own decisions about vaccination. In making that determination, we recommend that, where possible, they counsel with a competent medical professional about their personal circumstances and needs.

We have prayed for this literal godsend. Receiving the vaccine is part of our personal efforts to be good global citizens.

We find ourselves fighting a war against the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants, an unrelenting pandemic. We want to do all we can to limit the spread of these viruses. We know that protection from the diseases they cause can only be achieved by immunizing a very high percentage of the population.

To limit exposure to these viruses, we urge the use of face masks in public meetings whenever social distancing is not possible. To provide personal protection from such severe infections, we urge individuals to be vaccinated. Available vaccines have proven to be both safe and effective.

We can win this war if everyone will follow the wise and thoughtful recommendations of medical experts and government leaders. Please know of our sincere love and great concern for all of God’s children.
